Supply issues in one breast?

My almost 6 week Dd gets fussy on my left breast. She sucks for a little while then pulls off fussy. I put her back on, she'll suck a little, fuss again. I burp her, put her back on, she sucks a little, pulls off fussy. I can usually still express some milk from that breast after I give up and put her on the right breast. I think my right breast has a faster and longer let down. I can hear her swallowing more on that side. I try to keep putting her to that side first to tell it she needs more but she always ends up on my good side. I feel like if I can get my supply up some she'd be more satisfied on that side. I can't do o e sided feedings when she starts over there. Also when I think she just wants a pacifier I put her on my left side to stimulate it more. I don't want to end up with major supply issues on either side! Today I started her in the left side at every feed in hopes of getting it up but now I'm concerned maybe I am screwing up my right side!

Any advice? I want to breastfeed for at least a year so I need to figure out these issues!

Thanks

I have several thoughts. First, maybe your supply on that side is low simply because she's not nursing on it enough. Have you tried chiropractic with her? My son had tight muscles in his neck (he had the cord wrapped at birth & I wonder if it had an affect) and struggled to feed on my left side until I got him into the chiro. We had to go for several weeks to get it permanently fixed (at least I think it is). He would be fine for several days then start fussing on that one side again.

Have you tried the football hold? That has helped us.

I would also do inversion therapy on ds at home. You basically hold them upside down by their ankles to let their body naturally pull itself into alignment. Obviously use extreme caution. It was interesting & obvious with ds2. When inverting, he'd pull up on one side like that side was tighter. He doesn't do it anymore and he doesn't favor one side over the other anymore.

Hope you get it figured out!

Eh, my dd has a favorite. It was actually my lower producing side (though it's now the higher producing side). At 15 months, she nurses like crazy still and is on her favorite side around 80% of the time, maybe more. It really hasn't created any problems for us. I figure moms nurse twins, so essentially each baby gets one side, so that's pretty much what my dd did! However, chiropractic could definitely be helpful, as well as different positions. Maybe you cou pump the left when she nurses on the right? Pump to get letdown if that's the problem so she doesn't have to work for it? GL!
