day 3 of puking, 3 loads of linens....what to do?

this may be an amateur question but hey, i AM an amateur so here goes.
my 12 mo has been vomiting going on 3 days. it's not constant. the first night was vomit plus dry heaving until bedtime but since then it's just been after eating, nursing, or drinking water.
she's happy the rest of the time and even right after vomiting. she did just start daycare and had had a cold and since this started she's been really tough to put down for naps and bedtime (she's usually so so easy.)
is this just a bug or could it be an ear infection or something else? teething?tomorrow would be the first day that i would be available to take her to urgent care....do i bother????? i'm a little worried about dehydration. yesterday she had pretty much nothing in terms of wet diapers, today was normal but now tonight she puked up even BM.

Does your insurance company have a nurse hotline you can call? Or does your peds office have weekend hours? If that is available, I would call to see what they think. I would be concerned about dehydration too.

If it were me, I would probably take her in if her diaper was dry in the morning (provided it was unusual for her to be dry in the morning) or if she continues to vomit tomorrow after eating/drinking anything.

The other thing you can try is small amounts (like half an ounce at a time) of pedialyte to get her rehydrated. If she can't hold that down then she probably does need to be seen.

What I have run into with my oldest is that once she starts throwing up her body can't seem to stop. Sometimes we need to take her in and get her a dose of zofran to settle her stomach down.

Good luck - I hope she is better in the morning!

oh, wow, I've been dealing with almost the same thing over here with my dd. For the past 3 days, she has had diarrhea. I have been giving Pedialyte so she doesn't get dehydrated. I hope your LO feels better. I would definitley bring her into urgent care if she is still vomiting.
