I currently have DD with a ped who is a vax pit bull. I switched to her from my old ped based on the recommendation of my MW, but apparently I didn't communicate with her exactly what I need. I understand that most peds are pro-vax, I get that, but some are more pushy than others. I also have DD on the Feingold diet which is just perfect for her, but the ped didn't seem remotely interested in discussing that and how it has helped some of DD's other health issues.
Basically, I just want a conservative, gentle MD who will support me in how I want to care for my child and be there for true emergencies or to call at 3 am if the need ever arise.
DD is basically a healthy child with no major issues. I would not be opposed to going the Family Doc route if I could get a more general care module, less lecturing/confrontation, esp. when it comes to things like vax.
How do I go about finding such a thing for me locally? Is there a good reference site? Or is there some kind of tribe here on MDC to go to?
