My 5 yr old was playing with his siblings outside in the yard (fenced in small backyard) yesterday for a while in the afternoon. After a while they came in and I showered them and got them ready for bed. This morning he woke up and said his foot hurt and he was limping on it slightly (he does this whenever he gets a little bit hurt --). I looked at it and it looks like a tiny puncture wound (like I had a few months ago when I stepped on a sewing needle in my room -- it left a little red dot and was tender for a day or two before healing. I'm not sure if I should call the dr. His last Dtap (tetnus) shot was 4yrs3m ago ... he is due for his next one by December of this year. I'm only worried because I have no idea what object he stepped on -- I didn't see the wound when it first happened and if it was somethhing outside it could have rusted. My husband said he doubts their are rusty nails outside and he just mowed the lawn yesterday, if that makes a difference. My son said it felt like a rock he had stepped on (again--not sure how that would have gotten out there) and that is why he didn't tell me sooner. WWYD?
