I know there have been a million thread like this, so I apologize in advance-I just wanted thoughts on my particular top choices.
Dd is almost 3.5 and we would like to do *something* a bit more organized this year, but certainly not heavy academics or too structured. I tried Letter of the Week and it just wasn't interesting enough for either of us honestly. She looked forward to "doing school" but we could have done all the activities for the week in a day, lol. I want something a little more natural, if that makes sense, something that flows into our day a little more.
I was originally planning on doing Peak with Books or Before Five in a Row, but now am leaning more towards Little Acorn Learning. I am not overly concerned about teaching letters/numbers etc., but I know dp would like to see that happen. I like how Little Acorn has that rhythm that becomes part of daily life. I like how PWB etc. is literature based. I obviously have a couple of years of preschool if we start now, so we could theoretically do a year of each to see what we like.
This is long, sorry! Does everybody agonize over these things?! We don't have the $$ to experiment too much-i.e. if we buy something, we are kind of stuck with it for however long. I know Little Acorn is month by month, so I guess we could buy a month and see how it goes.
Thanks for any input into these programs for this age bracket. Hope everyone is enjoying the start of their "school" year!
