I need some thoughts on an issue with my 9 month old. We bagan feeding him "solids" about 3 weeks ago. We tried sweet potato puree, mashed up banana, peas, and pears over the course of that time following the try something and wait a few days model.
Everything was going fine. I take a pretty relaxed approach to feeding him since I know there is no real need for it. He nurses a lot. I don't keep track of nursing but I would say he never even goes three hours between nursing.
He was pooping similiar to his bf poops once or twice a day but now with a slightly thicker texture. Last week he went 6 days with out a poop. I did some reading on the issue and started feeding him prunes.
Then he began what I would describe as preview poops. Small, the consistancy of peanut butter, a few times a day that were clearly not the full poop. Then he pooped a huge poop that I would say was a constipated poop. The next day he went back to the "prieview" pooping.
So, my question is should I view this as a sign he is not ready for food or this just a big transition for his body. He has teeth, sits, stand, and crawls. He really loves eating but I don't want to rush his body.
