Moms of 2 or more-- did it take the same amt of time for your period to come back after birth? - Page 2

1st baby: almost 6 months
2nd baby: 4 months

Both were EBF'd with no pacifiers. Each got the occasional bottle but I pumped for every missed feed. Both times, my period came back (and I felt the tell-tale ovulation signs 2 weeks prior) right after the baby started going more than 4 or so hours at night without nursing. I guess my body must be very sensitive to that.

And, once it was back, it was back. They both regressed in sleep but my period was there to stay.

All mine were BF'd. With the first 4 my cycles were back by 6-8 weeks PP even though I BF'd on demand and exclusively, no bottles or pacis. I hated it and could never figure out what I was doing wrong. For some reason, with my 5th, it didn't return until 14 months. I still have no idea what I did differently but I wasn't complaining at all.

After the first 3 months, I worked FT and pumped. I got pg when DD1 was 6 months and again when DS was 7 months. I had at least one pp AF before getting pg with each of them, maybe 2? I'm not sure when I had pp AF with DD2, but I'm thinking it was around 6 months

baby#1 - came back right after my PP bleeding stopped :/
baby#2 - came back at 10 months
baby#3 - I'm nearing 15 months PP and it still hasn't returned....time will tell...
all three were exclusively BFed around the clock, no bottles ever

Dd1 - 8 months
Dd2 - 13 months (I think). I had spotting the day I had my IUD placed. The midwife said it was probably my period. I just didn't think that was the case because I was 7 weeks postpartum and she was nursing every 1.5-2 hours throughout the day. Following the Mirena being placed I had intermittent spotting (only remember seeing it when I wiped) until I removed it. I don't recall having an actual cycle until the month after I removed it and when her nighttime feedings decreased.

Ds2 - We're closing up on 9 months and nothing yet. He still nurses frequently. We co-sleep. My girls did as well.

My periods came back at 16 months pp and 12 monts pp.

What was common to both situations was that they did not nurse (nor did I pump)during the day on the days I WOH (with DS1 I wanted to eat to try eating with coworkers, with DS2 he had a daycare only nursing strike and would not nurse in that setting). Anyway I think going 8-9 hours without nursing or pumping was what jump started my periods.

first baby: around 3 months (she started sleeping for 7 hr stretches at night, and my fertility returned a few weeks later though we were cosleeping.)
2nd baby: 6 months to the day (tandem nursing)
3rd baby: he'll be 6 months next week, and nothing so far. no tandem nursing and he takes the occasional paci.
