I thought second tri meant energy??

I'm 21 weeks and the past few days I've had to NAP around 3pm or else I'm useless (and apparently I snap at people too...)

What gives? I thought that the second trimester meant an energy burst to nest and whatnot...I remember that with DS.

They lied. I'm almost to the third trimester and I'm just now starting to get something that might be sorta kinda called an energy surge.

(Although to be fair, I was/am anemic and vitamin d deficient. A month of heavy supplementation got me feeling halfway decent, but the energy burst never materialized. Just the nesting urge.)

Yep. I WANT to do things...but I have zero energy or motivation to actually get up and move. When I do have some sort of energy (usually caffeine induced) I'm catching up on housework.

I think having a toddler plays into it. I also forget to eat sometimes (I'm not hungry some days) so I KNOW that makes it worse...

Yeah, the problem with what's "supposed" to happen is that it doesn't always happen for everyone! I'm 23 weeks. I definitely have more energy than I did in the 1st trimester, but not nearly as much as I'd like. I do think that taking care of DS (he's 4) and doing housework plays into that a lot. When pregnant w/DS I was still at work at a regular daytime job, not keeping up with an active pre-schooler all day.

When I was pg with DS we were living with DH's parents and only he was working at this time...so, when I didn't sleep well at night I could sleep in until WHENEVER and then sit on my butt all day. Now my schedule is dictated by a 17mo!

I remember not having any energy in the third trimester, but that might have been because it was summer at that time and summer always drains my energy.

Yup, same here. I'm going to try taking an iron supplement (Floradix) to try to provide a bit of energy. Otherwise I guess it's just the difference of being pregnant with the first and being pregnant with a little one to look after.

Remembering back to the first trimester I can say I did get some of my energy back but not nearly enough to be close to normal. First Trimester I was so tired that I couldn't even keep up with facebook and my message boards. Just building a basic house on The Sims was so exhausting I'd have to do it in shifts. Leaving the house was near impossible. Early second trimester I was still pretty tired but I had low blood sugar and low blood pressure problems that would make me nearly collapse if I exerted myself. By late second trimester I had enough energy to go grocery shopping without wanting to pass out midway through the store. Now that I'm starting the third trimester I get sore AND tired. The bump is still going to get much bigger but the soreness is enough of a reminder to slow down and sit still so I don't completely tire myself out.

Hmm...I have low blood pressure. Like, sleepy low all the time. My MW says it's a good thing (better than HIGH BP) What can I do for it? A friend said that she does pinches of sea salt to "boost" it...

I didn't really do anything, it just kind of went away on its own. My blood pressure is still on the low side but it doesn't drop like it used to.

I'm still waiting for my energy to show up, too! I also have low blood pressure and my blood sugar seems really sensitive, too (like I need to eat every two hours). I don't remember it being this bad with my other kids, though it could be that I just have more to do now, too.
