ARG! For the past month, DS has been reliable with the potty at day care. I think there has only been one day that they've had to change his clothes (well, two... but the second one he was way off due to working on his tow year molars... so I don't count that)
Anyway, we started sending him to daycare in undies a month ago b/c he was about 98% reliable at home if he was naked and we wanted to transfer that to undies. So he's doing great at school... but now we're even having problems with him if he's naked. We will ask him if he wants to sit on the potty. He says "no need to pee!" Or he'll say, "need to pee" but then refuse to sit on the potty and ask for a diaper... to which we say no and leave him naked. But this usually ends up with a pee puddle somewhere. Either that, or he'll hold it until we put his night time diaper on him. And then he'll pee.
Tonight, DH had some success with trying to teach DS how to pee standing up. Although he pee'd 3 times like that tonight, I'm feeling kind of guarded about it... don't know if it'll transfer to tomorrow.
The whole thing (especially the pee thing) is just getting frustrating b/c he does it at daycare with no issues at all. They just say that it's potty time, and he's all game. We do have two different options for him here at home... a baby bjorn potty chair or a little seat cover for the big potty... so when it's time to potty, I usually say, "do you want to use the little red potty or the big potty." His usual response is "no... I need a diaper." Very occasionally, it will be "the big potty" and then he starts refusing once we actually try to help him onto it.
We've also tried rewards... at first using toilet paper and flushing was a great reward for him. But we've also tried more contrived rewards (little marshmellows, m&ms, even popsicles) and he doesn't care at all... but rewards don't really work with his personality anyway... he's the kind of kid where it has to be his idea or he just won't do it (which means I have to get really creative sometimes).
Ideas?!?! Please?!?!
