...if I do say so myself!

My precious son was born tonight/this morning (9/14/10 at 1:51 am) showing us once again how stubborn he is. I was heartbroken to make the decision to be induced on Wed (right at 42 weeks), so he decided to have his birth day NOW!

9 lbs 15.5 oz. 20 inches
dark brown hair, blue eyes and nursing like a champ.

Not a home birth as planned as he required a little expert turning, but I did birth vaginally and I can't believe how much butt I kicked... Or how much I threw up!!!

We still had a beautiful, peaceful, loving experience at the hospital. I'm so proud of my big boy and my amazing body!!

FWIW I have to take castor oil a lot (outside of pregnancy) and its really not as horrible as some people claim. Especially if you get the flavorless/odorless kind (its not flavorless/odorless but compared to the kind that is not flavorless/odorless its a ton easier to consume!)

My two favorite ways of doing it (outside of outright chugging it, followed by some pop to clean out my mouth!) is either Ina Mays suggestion of having it in scrambled eggs (you really don't notice it!) or my own finding of mixing it with applesauce and drinking the applesauce (then wiping my tongue with a wet paper towel after each drink)

Of course, its not exactly pleasant but when IS sitting on the toilet for three hours pleasant?

Just get a good book and relax! Plan a nice bath or shower for afterward too because no amount of wiping makes you feel clean.

Definitely do not make plans to leave the house within 24 hours of taking it (unless you are doing a hospital birth lol) because even after you think the effects have worn off for potty time... that's probably not gas building up in there.

And if it has not started its job in 6 hours... do NOT take a second dose just yet. Be patient. Sometimes it can take 12 hours or a bit more to work its magic but when it does, it DOES!

You go girl!!!!! Congratulations!!! (My DD was born the day before my scheduled induction too. Hmm, maybe I should schedule an induction to scare this little boy into coming out)

I hope you feel sooo much better now.
