My DD is really into kissing these days. Not just kissing people. She makes inanimate objects kiss, like two rocks or two of her rubber duckies. The other day I took her tray off her high chair and glanced back to see her bumping her own feet together and making kissing sounds.

Today DS and I had to take the dog to the vet. They have a fisher-price doctor kit there with the fake stethoscope, thermometer, etc. So DS was playing with it in the exam room while the dog had her appt.

Well, he really latched onto the stethoscope. He was wearing it around his neck, chasing the dog with it, etc etc. And I'm thinking to myself that he's NEVER going to let it go without a major meltdown. Should I insist that he give it up and deal with the tantrum? SHould I ask if we can just take it home and return it to the office tomorrow? I'm really sweating it.

But when its time to go, I ask DS to put the toys away, and he does! Perfectly! Then I ask him to carry the case to the waiting room, and he does!! Then, while I'm paying, I tell him to put it where he found it, and he does! Perfectly! Lined it up right on the shelf. And came bopping back to me with a big smile!

I swear, sometimes he makes me so stinkin' proud!

15 mos going on 4...

These stories are cracking me up!! My 15 mos old boy is communicating so much these days, though me and the grandma are about the only ones who understand! Last night I was grilling outside and told him to stay away from the grill, "HOT" I said, over and over and let him get his hand near enough to feel the heat. "ohhhhhh" he says with big concerned eyes...then this morning we let the dogs outside onto the back patio (where the grill is) and he walks over to it, waves his little arms in the air and says, "ahh hawwww, hawwt!" Five minutes later, getting clothes from the dyer, "Hawwtt mamamama! Hawwwt" Yes, Ethan, the dryer is hot. Eating breakfast 20 minutes later, mommy drinking coffee, and Ethan again shouting his warnings "Hawwtt mamama! Hawwwt!" Very concerned for safety this one... LOL.

I just got this email from my sister yesterday. Her DS, Jack is 4...

I'm sitting on the couch making my grocery list when I hear a very nonchalant comment from the kitchen..."I don't know how I got here."

I glance over to see easy-going Jack who has the hammer loop on his carpenter jeans caught on the top kitchen drawer so that he is hanging mid-air and upside-down from the drawer with no way to help himself.

"I don't know how I got here."

Me neither, Jack.

Right now when ds wants to nurse he comes up and whispers with this adorable little smile, "some moke?" then giggles like we've just shared the funniest joke ever. Of course then he tries to kick me in the face while he nurses.

One other really cute thing he said this morning. He came and slept in our bed last night pretty early and spent the rest of the night with us. This morning after we got up, he was snuggling on my lap, and I asked him if he had just needed to sleep with mama last night. He said, 'yes, is good.' I just about melted

Time to bump up for more cute toddler stories...

Here are some resent ones for us...

- Currently Lucy's favorite song is Dynamite by Taio Cruz... This is the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPD0D...e_gdata_player... Its a song she heard on the radio a few times and now she is obsessed with it. She asks for it every day probably 5x a day a the very least. What's adorable is that she fully dances to it and sings along. My kids got some rhythm too I mean she shakes her booty to the beat and puts her hands in the air. It cracks me up every single time. I don't even really like the song but she loves it so I play it for her. (on my iPhone)

-today I got to sleep in an extra hour while she watched scooby doo with her daddy. When she was ready for me to ge up she came into the room, snuck under the covers with me, gave me a kiss on the lips and said "waky waky mama! I love you!".... To play with her a bit I grunted I love you too and rolled over... A which point she slapped me on the arm and in a more serious tone said "mama! Get up! It's not nite nite!"

I love her so much. Baby number 2 is due in 3 weeks and I'm so nervous about how I'm possibly going to love him as much as I love her. I know it will just happen but I'm still a bit nervous.

I thought this was hilarious.  OMG.  I can just see it.  What a cutie.

DD is teething and has been chewing on my DN's plastic toys over at my mom's house.  I finally took a play fork away from her after plenty of warnings.  She was so mad.  I swear she turned red.  She raised her hand to hit me, held it there for a couple seconds, put it down and said, "I want to hit you, but I will give you a hug instead."  And, then she gave me a hug.  Seriously, when did I win the lottery with this one?

She has also gone from being able to go all night without peeing, to waking me up once a night.  There is something about her falling asleep on my shoulder on the way back to our bed that melts my heart.  I don't want his phase to end.

And, about an hour after my sister and I were having a spirited conversation on how we feel Macy's intentionally tries to trick customers with their strategically places sales signs, DD turned to me, and in such a serious tone asked, "mom, what is a...macy"  For some reason it cracked me up.  She said it so gingerly, like she thought she was saying a bad word.

How is this for cute?  This should definitely put a smile on your face.
