10 or 15 Minute Sessions of Cleaning--Please join in! - Page 56

Holy carp! Last night, I went to go speak to a childbirth class, then came home to take a class online. This morning I ran out first thing to take one of the kids to speech while dh watched the other three.

Now every room of the house looks like it's been raided by bandits. We have some serious work to do.

I'm going to go set the timer for 15 now...

I did 15 minutes, mostly in the kitchen. The house still needs a lot of work. Going to take a five minute break, clean for 10 or 15 minutes, then report back.

Did another 15 minutes. Flipped the laundry, did another load of dishes, wiped down the stove and counter and picked up some things in the living room.

I'm going to do more when we get home from the store this afternoon.

I have to edit to say that I spent almost two hours organizing our DVDs into a binder by genre. So that's my cleaning for yesterday in the entire weekend. I'm working 12 hour shifts today and tomorrow so cleaning goes out the window on the weekends. I'll definitely pick back up on Monday! orngbiggrin.gif

Clutter- emergency dental work should get you off at least a week of cleaning. Take care of yourself! If it hurts take something for it too, cleaning/housework chores can wait for later!

DH is at work this morning and won't be home until tomorrow night so I have 36 hours without that much of a distraction since he distracts me more than the girls do. Why is it I can get a lot done taking care of two kids but if my husband is home I end up sitting around, play cards and talking? Maybe because my kids think cleaning is fun for some odd reason.

Today I need to:

Drink something HOT to defrost myself.. or take a hot shower, or take a hot bath or do a combination of them. Its COLD in my apartment.

Do laundry, do laundry, do laundry.. did I mention laundry? Its taken over my entire apartment- started

quick clean apartment: living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, playroom

Start reading the book on North Carolina I ordered and got in the mail yesterday. Read the first chapter and a half, at that rate I can read it this week. Its really dry though and doens't give the info I was hoping for. Hopefully it improves as the book goes on. We can home.

If time: finish purple skirt, finish red dress (both these should take an hour MAX to do both), work on DD's birthday presents: need to make shirt, skirt, hair tie organizer, have the children pick up fabric and pattern to make their doll dresses/bloomers

If time: start on baby to dos for the week, Im deep cleaning the kitchen and living room this week. I do it every January and July but it usually takes me Jan/Feb to do it, this year I want to get it all done BEFORE the baby comes. If you are wondering why its because the mold over here is so bad if you don't pull everything out and clean well at least every 6 months things get ruined from the mold.

Not happening:

freeze lasagna

make jambalaya and freeze half

finish file folder games

The girls are having a "I need mommy every second" day so I haven't gotten much done. Im not that suprised though, DH has been working a lot so they have been wanting extra attention from me to make up for him not being around. Im happy to oblige since in the not so distant future they will have to share me with a little guy that takes up a lot of my time.

I have been working on the laundry, its a slow process and I got the kitchen clean. Im working on the bedrooms and bathrooms next.

eta- ya- master bedroom clean, now to wipe down the master bath then Im going to go onto the girls room.

eta2- bathrooms are wiped down and swept, bedrooms are picked up and swept. Off to do the playroom and hallway (I combine the two since toys tend to migrate into the hallway).. if I don't come back in the next couple of hours send a search party, this room is a disaster!

eta3- The playroom and hall are done! Only thing left cleaning wise is the living/dining room. Luckily that isn't all that bad since DH cleaned it up Friday night.

eta4- living/dining room done! Now the house is somewhat presentable.. at least if someone came by I could invite them in without feeling bad about it. The girls are eating a snack so Im going to go see if the laundry is dry. If it is Im going to fold it and put in the next load. If not Im going to go put dishes away.

eta- folded laundry, put away, put away dishes, did a load and put those away as well. Now Im going to go make the bed, brush teeth, read stories, put the kids to bed and then do my to-do list for tomorrow. After that is done Im going to go to bed sleepytime.gif
