10 or 15 Minute Sessions of Cleaning--Please join in! - Page 3

OK I cleaned the bathtub and put on a load of washing, put away some dry stuff too.
The house is a disaster and I'm tired.. so I need some motivation. I did get the kitchen and living room reasonably clean and caught up on the laundry. My baby girl has decided to go from dumping clothes to dumping books, which I actually don't mind nearly as much. Its a whole lot easier to clean up and then I don't have to rewash things that got dirty again.

Next Im going to go make a to do list for the rest of the week, e-mail my husband to see if he has any idea when hes getting home (he might end up coming home early- but Im not holding my breath) and then decide where to conquer next.
Got the to do list done and the e-mail. I also put linens in the wash and cleaned up the girls room, bagging a whole bag of clothes they don't wear so I can get rid of them.

Next up the playroom, if I can get done with that considering how my girls are acting, then Ill move onto the master bedroom. Luckily nothing is really dirty, just messy needs to be picked up from being neglected for almost a week.
Haven't gotten to the playroom yet but I did switch through laundry and clean the master bedroom. Now Im going to go do the playroom. Things really don't go that quickly when your kids are trying to "help" by undoing what you have done (honestly, they just unmade the bed I just made, dumped the laundry I just folded and ripped up the to do list I just made.. if they weren't so darn cute they would be in trouble!!)
GOt the playroom done, took a while but at least everything is put away properally. Thats the last cleaning thing Im going to do today with the exception of our nightly clean up.

Joining in!!Trying to get house cleaned throughly before dreaded best rest(if it does)kick in. Today I need to:
scrub kitchen floors by hand with bleach(they are white but um look brown now lol)
fold 2 loads of laundry and put away
vacuum living room
cook a nice baked chicken dinner

thats all I am doing today. I cleaned a lot yesterday plus listed on ebay. I had BH contractions last night pretty bad,so need to take it easy(er) than normal. its 7am my time. Ive been up since 3, so going to go back to sleep for a while before tackling these issues!

Congrats, OkiMom! Yes, books are much easier to put away than clothes. I don't know why, but I strongly dislike folding and putting away clothes.

Welcome to the thread, Strong Mama!

I'm going to try to get more decluttering done today, as well as some basic cleaning.
Yep, I need a little motivation too

My list of things I need to do:
clean living room
vacuum living room
clean "dining" room
clean hallway
fold 3-4+ loads of laundry
put away said laundry
wash dishes(drain is clogged and disposal isn't working, so I think I have 5 minutes before the sink fills with water, so today I will be procrastinating on dish washing, and then doing dishes in 5 minute segments.
cook something with the mutton I thawed overnight
tackle the bedroom(most of the "mess" is that 3-4+ loads of clean laundry, so maybe it will seem easier once everything else is done...

right now, I am going to do the living room, i'll back in 15 minutes!

allrighty, cleaned and vacuumed the living room

now off to change a diaper!

then I'll go get the laundry out of the crib, and bring it into the living room to fold (isn't that what cribs are for? )

Welcome, Amatullah0! Yes, I say that is just what cribs are for! LOL!

So far I have dried a load of laundry and folded 2 loads of laundry, washed the dishes and washed and dried the comforter.

I still have lots to do. For starters, I need to scoop the litter box, scrub the trash can and put away the laundry. I'm setting my timer for 15 minutes!

well got the chicken dinner cooked....got the liv room vacuumed...got sidetracked.
still did work, but different stuff:

Okay--I also put the diapers in to soak and need to spend the next 2-3 sessions on making DH's birthday card, complete with 38 things that I love about him!
Poetry, Im not a big fan of folding either, thats why its such a pain when I have to refold things. I hang 99% of the clothing because if I left it to be folded it just wouldn't happen. However, trying to hang little skirts and tops just don't work so they end up being folded... and sometimes dumped and folded again.. and again.. and again.. Books are just so much easier!

I haven't done much today again. Im drinking a fruit smoothie right now and then Im going to go try to find the pattern Im using for the girls dresses, iron the fabric and cut out the pattern pieces. If that gets done then Ill hunt down the right color thread and start sewing. I really want to get these dresses made.

I am feeling rather unwell today so it has been a struggle to get stuff done, still got a few things achieved though.

emptied dishwasher
took washing off clothesline and put away
did two more loads of washing
hung out two more loads of washing
folded towels and put in towel rack
dusted shelves in DS's room
cleaned some shelves in breakfast room

despite feeling like rubbish I had to go out to orthodontist with DD
while there i picked up some books from library about bathroom renovations
post #55 of 1254
Alrighty. I've been frustrated with the clutter in the house all morning, so I'm going to put in some cleaning time and report back here...
I:

- put clean dishes away
- flipped laundry and started the next load
- changed out dish towels
- wiped out bathroom sink
- took recycling to outside bin
- decluttered kitchen counter
- wiped down kitchen counter
- swept kitchen floor

clutterwarrior, I hope you feel better.

I'm jumping in, too! I can't decide whether to tackle cleaning or decluttering. Since I'm having company tomorrow night, I guess I'll go with cleaning. :-)

I didn't get anything done last night other than order the patterns for the dresses I need to make and the fabric for DD2's birthday dress and Im not holding up for anything to get done today. Life would be easier without morning sickness. Today I really NEED to:

-make a meal plan- Would it be terribly horrible of me to do it just until the weekend DH gets home then make him watch the girls so I can do major food shopping without them?? Food shopping with two toddlers is really hard, specially when you can't bend over without feeling ill or dizzy.
-take a trip to the commissary and go shopping

-drop the microwave off at the thrift store (this is probably not happening, its almost an hour drive one way to get there)
- If i make it to the thrift store see if they have any short sleeve maternity shirts, all the shirts I have are long sleeve and its in the 90s over here.

-clean the bathrooms (during my middle of the night encounter last night I realized the toilet needs cleaning)
-iron the fabric for the girls dresses
-at least find the pattern for the girls dresses (if I procrastinate anymore on this DD1 might try to do the sewing herself.. yes, she knows where the machine is and how to thread it)

-take a trip to the library..
[-start working on "school" plans. DD1 keeps wondering when "school" is going to start. Can I push a mute button next time someone asks her how she likes school and who her teacher is? Although I find it very funny DH taught her to say she goes to the "School of Mommy Awesomeness" and has the "Awesome Mommy" as her teacher.
-clean out the AC filters in the master bedroom, girls room and playroom. OR
-stop by the housing maintenance store on base to see if they have the replacement filters for our AC units. They need replacing pretty bad.

-start hunting for fabric for the ball gown I'm suppose to be making. I don't know why I can't find a pre-made ball gown, I'm not asking for that much just: sleeves, a high neckline and maternity.. Oh and if it could be in either gold, brown or red that would be ideal, those are my DH's favorite colors on me.

what I want to do:
sleep-Ive been up since 2am.
cuddle the girls in bed and read books
call my hubby up and try to convince him to talk to them about letting him go early-- ok wouldn't happen but it might be funny to try.

And after reading this post I know Im in a mood today. Oh today should be fun.

Hi, I decluttered DD's room today and it is gorgeous! It really only took an hour or so and it's so worth it. I can't wait til she comes home to see it.

Oh, OkiMom, I remember morning sickness! I had 'all day sickness" for over half my pregnancy. It was horrible! How far along are you?

Hi *bejeweled*! Welcome to the thread.

So I decided to spend my sessions decluttering. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. I guess I'm ready to be out with the old and in with the new. I want to finish decluttering before my next pregnancy and I plan to TTC after the New Year. I've got my spare room (a small utility room) and 2 closets. 1 closet is stacked bottom to top with boxes of God only knows what! It's intimidating. I decided to start with the utility room because at any moment I can physically see my progress. I'm fairly proud of myself. I have been putting off these boxes for YEARS!

So (for as long as babe is content) I'm going to continue to declutter. :-)
