My son is 3 and has been delayed from birth. i have know along time that something is not right so we saw a genetic doctor and they did chromosone testing, fragile x, and organic acid in urine testing. All of it came back normal. That is good dont get me wrong but some thing is going on. My pedi agrees that something is causeing all the problems he has so i thought maybe you guys could think were I should go from here.
He has develmental delays, globally delayed but speech is the worst. gross and fine motor delays, cognitive delay, social delay, self help delay, and behavioal delay
he has low muscle tone, he had reflex as a baby and was on meds until 1.5 years old, he also has excesive sweating as in his head is dripping with sweat.
He is always tired, he sleeps at least 16 hours aday
He also has anxiety, ataxia and was just diagnoses with encehalopathy, he has tremmors which he takes medication for and he has alot of sensory problems.
So I have been reading and I am starting to wonder if this is a mitochondial disease. What do you think. Am I reading to much into all of this.
Also he gets cronic sinus and ear infections has had 4 sets of ear tubes and has had sinus surgery.
