WWYD -- Going out of town for job interviews

I am feeling very conflicted & torn (in that mama -- work way).

I am very fortunate to have a couple of job interviews lined up in a few days. I'll have to be out of town pretty much for two whole days. And I'll be busy during the day with interviews.

So... do I leave DS at home (with dada & baby sitter) or do I take him with me (during the day he can stay with family & play with his cousins)?

I feel so silly agonizing over this, but I haven't spent much time apart from DS (during the day, yes, but only one overnight). I think (I know!) he'd be fine at home & I think I'd be less distracted for the interviews in a certain sense, but I also really hate to leave him.

DS is 18 mos. Also, we still nurse & I don't think the two days will kill his desire to nurse but he's also been wanting to nurse A LOT the past few days.

WWYD? Thanks!

My DS is 3 years and I had to leave him home twice to attend out-of-town job interviews. He did fine. But at 18 months, he absolutely would have come with me. There's no way I could have left him, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have a) understood why I left him and b) understood that I would be back. Were it me, I'd bring him along.

depends on how much babysitting support you have where you are going. would he feel comfortable spending the whole day there or more with his dad. if he would be fine all alone from 8-8 (some interviews include dinner out) then I say bring him with you. then you don't have to pump all night LOL/

Thanks, ladies! I decided to leave him at home & try to switch to an earlier flight back as soon as my interview ends -- that I will really only be gone 2 days, 1 night (it was going to be 2 nights).

I haven't had much time to prepare for the interview, so the flight will be my only time to work on it--I figure that this will be good for my family if I get the job, so I better actually prepare, which means not chasing a toddler up & down the aisles.

Also, Carita your advice rang true... We actually do things very differently than my family does, so leaving him all day with them would give me pause (they're not great with responding to wakings for one thing). I'm sure he'd be fine, but I honestly think time with his sitter & dada will be much better for him.

Wish me luck (I'm actually pretty confident that he will be fine without me)... I'm more worried about at me being away from him at this point!

And ugh to having to pump!
