Best places for maternity wear? - Page 2

I don't know how you feel about resale, but some kids resale stores has a maternity section. You can get some unique, even boutique brand maternity(Michael Stars, Pickles & Ice cream, etc) for cheap because it's resale. I found most of my maternity wear there the first time around.

Keep in mind I shopped for maternity clothes 6 yrs ago and haven't yet shopped for any this pregnancy (hoping to use the clothes I kept). But I got some really great stuff on clearance at Gap Maternity and Motherhood Maternity. I bought some T's and a hooded sweatshirt at Old Navy. The rest were borrowed or from nice consignment shops. I didn't care for Motherhood's stuff at all. I believe Kohl's has a maternity section as well.

i told them it was non of their busness and she left it at that, i then opened up the sample bag she gave me and handed her back everything that smelled like perfume and yucky stuff and reminded her that it was silly to gross a preggo lady out with strong scents and that was not going anywhere near my house.

one of the problems im having with maternity tops is finding one that have fun with my curves rather than hiding them under a big top sized top!
this is the first time in many years i feel like i can just looove my body rather than sucking in my stomach, i am lovin the sleek stretchy shirts that show my bump, but they also tend to be the costly hard to find ones.

and i got a pair of pants online and they fit fine but the press on my bladder to hard and the band comes up half over my tummy, a really stupid place to stop!

wow I can't believe I forgot about that. Guess what Motherhood Maternity did to me last time I was pregant. They actually took my debit card number and sold it to a magazine company that started charging me for a magazine I had never subscribed to. I called the company and asked how they got my debit card info. The woman on the line actually told me they got it from a purchase I had made at Motherhood Maternity. I can't even begin to understand how that is even legal! Oh I am furious all over again. The last thing you want to worry about with a new baby is some bogus company selling your debit card number to a company that steals your money from your bank account.

Holy crap, trekkingirl! That is crazy, I also can't believe it is legal. I definitely would have reported it. I'm pretty stoked now that I didn't find anything I liked at Motherhood Maternity.

I have no problem with resale except that it always feels like I have to spend so much time to find things, and since I start back at school next week, I will have no time to spend on shopping.

I wish H&M had a bigger selection, I really like the stuff that I got, it was just not enough.

I found some cute form fitting maternity tops at Target. They are Liz Lange.

I had a hard time finding clothes at Old Navy. I did find two pairs of slacks that I like but most of their clothes were blech. For some reason the one in my area had really tenty tops and I can't stand that. They also had some jeans that were tapered down to the ankle. Let me tell you that a round belly going down to skinny jeans and a tapered ankle look very odd.

I did have some luck at Motherhood Maternity with a pair of cargo pants.

Maybe you could adapt some non-maternity clothes for a similar effect?
thanks for sharing. that was great!
