? about knit t-shirts

I just bought a bunch of knitted t-shirts for myself. Because I am well endowed up top I need to buy an XL, but then the sleeves are too long. I don't want to have to roll them up all the time so I want to hem them. I have never sewed knit fabric before. Are there any caveats I need to be aware of? Do I need to use a ball point needle? Thanks in advance.

I believe you will need a ball point needle, and be extra careful not to stretch the fabric while running it through the machine.

Yes to a ballpoint needle.

And - using a strip of iron on stabiliser along where you want to stitch will make the bit you are going to sew easier to sew as it will be stiffer and not stretchy.

Or - just cut the sleeves to the length you want and the edges will just roll a bit, not fray.

Thanks! I think I will try just cutting them at first and if I don't like the result then I will hem them
