Co-sleeping under attack in Rockford

The Rockford Register Star has recently run a series of articles critical of co-sleeping. Apparently, 4 infants have died in as many months due to "co-sleeping." The articles aren't specific on whether these deaths were related to suffocation, SIDS, or other causes. They did state that they were due to co-sleeping, however. In addition, all three hospitals attended a "talk" given by an anti-co-sleeping advocate. This basically will ensure the nurses at the hospital you deliver at in Rockford will not allow you to "sleep-in" with your baby. Pediatricians affilated with the three hospitals in town will also probably begin actively discouraging co-sleeping. If you live in the Rockford area, I would love to hear from you. I would like to organize some kind of response to these attacks.

That's terrible. The nurses at RMH kept trying to make me put my LO in the crib thing when we were in there, but I coslept with her in the room. Co-sleeping suffocation is so rare, I bet there's something else behind those deaths as well such as intoxication or SIDS. I hate that they're blaming co-sleeping!
