how long?

How long can one go with having contractions? Not Braxton Hicks contractions but irregular contractions? Is it 5 weeks? 8 weeks? longer? What are your experiences or have been told?

Well I have been having regular, constant, sometimes strong contractions (that are not doing anything to my cervix) for 2 1/2 weeks... and irregular contractions since about 32 weeks. Still haven't had this little girl yet, was due yesterday. Shes healthy and fine so we aren't worried (though I AM exhausted. I'm sitting here having contractions about every 4 minutes right now but not in labor yet. and yes, they are contractions, but just not changing my cervix)

So you're going on 9 weeks, right? How do you tell the difference between BH and regular contractions? I thought I was having BH's but the tech said no that they were regular contractions not the bh's.

BH stop. These don't. That is the only way I know the difference.

I had 7 weeks before I delivered DD. I was walking around dilated to a 4 for 3 of those weeks, so they were definitely doing something!
