2 weeks old, lots of catches... now 2 months hardly any

I'm pretty oblivious to my daughter's cues. Either she gives them too late, I get busy and don't notice, or she doesn't cue at all. I offer via timing.

For the past couple of weeks, I offer the potty and she just sits there... almost playfully, but not eliminating whatsoever. Then we'll nurse or I'll be holding her and I can feel her wet ever so happily! No cue!

Right now I'm lucky to catch 1 poop a day and haven't caught a pee in a while.

Kinda discouraged because it's like I'm doing twice the work... ECing *and* full time diapering.

I've never been able to ready DS's cues! We started part-time EC around 4 months, and he seemed to pee at predictible times (not always, but usually) -- when waking (and again a little after the first pee), after nursing. I STILL can't read his poop cues!

So maybe our LOs just don't cue.

Nursing is sort of a cue for my son. When I think he has to pee, I often have to nurse him first. Then he won't unlatch, but he'll pause to smile at me or be on the boob but not nursing, and often that's his "cue". If you haven't tried, nurse her with a non-waterproof trainer or a prefold wrapped loosely around her when you nurse, and see if there is a sign when she nurses.

I didnt experience this myself but my friend told me the same thing with her daughter, with whom she also started EC from birth. I am happy to report that the 2-way singalling picked up again after a month or so. I have no explanation, but I thought you might like to hear this.
