Awesome, MovnMama--thanks for the advice! I like the shirts you linked to, especially the Gap one. There is a little baby/maternity consignment shop in my neighborhood that I was checking out the other day and they have a great selection of used maternity clothes--lots of Gap, Liz Lange, Motherhood Maternity, etc.--and had a bunch of that style shirt. Maybe I'll pick some up! For now my regular shirts are still working, but I'm close to the point where I think I'll feel uncomfortable with how clingy they are.

I figured nursing wouldn't likely be an issue (well...once I get the hang of it, that is). And I know the grass is always greener on the other side! I am thankful for my small size b/c I realize I have never and probably will never have to deal with droopage...or back pain!
Still. I'm kind of surprised they haven't swelled into pillowy mams yet. It was (maybe not-so-secretly) one of the "perks" of pregnancy I was looking forward to! ![]() |

I was a C before I got pregnant with my oldest. I went up to a D when I was engorged, and then dropped to a B when my milk dried up (I didn't breastfeed her). With my son, I went back up to a C when I got engorged, and then dropped to an A as he slowly started weaning himself. So - I have gone from a C to an A through my pregnancies. I don't know where I am going to go after #3! Apparently, my boobs will be non-existant!

i'm a full D pre-pg. during my pg with dd, i went up to a very full DD (i never went an dactually got fit though, so probably should have been in a bit bigger bra). they went up to OMG size when my milk came in and stayed that way for a few weeks before settling back to a very full DD again. i nursed her for 2 yrs and by the time she finished weaning and for about a year after, they were a deflated C/D. They went back up during my pg with ds and hadn't started the deflation process when i got pg with this baby. ds was only 8 months old though. i'm holding at a veyr full DD right now, but ds has also nursed throughout this pg. i'm curious to see what changes birth will bring this time since we never weaned and will hopefully tandem nurse. i 2nd (or 3rd) the bravado bras! they were especially great for those first few unpredictable months after ds's birth, before i dared try to settle on a specific sized bra.

Unfortunately, depends on your body. I was a B cup, god pregnant the first time, went to a C cup, nursed for 2 years, ended up with a D cup. Pregnant again, and I'm literally popping out of my D cup, so I'm probably at least a DD now. My sister, though, started out a B cup, breastfeed four kids (last is a set of two month old twins), barely got any bigger during any of the pregnancies, and seems to consistantly go down to an A cup after weaning.

Really? I think that's totally normal when you have a newborn. Now, if you're talking about a toddler, I can see that.

I had to laugh at advice that "baby's mouth should completely cover the areola. "
That was before the LC actually saw my breast; then she said "...but probably not in your case."

I think mine are FINALLY big enough to use that rule. Even now though having the whole areola might not be enough. Lets just say I was *very* shocked the first time I saw areolas the size of small dinner plates!

I was an F I think with DS, so he was easily 3-4 months old before his head got bigger than my boobs. I'm a G/H now; no clue what will happen once my milk comes this time.

i'm afraid of what might happen this time. my bra can already fit on my head with plenty of room between my head and the wire.

Ummm....weird to admit this on the internet but I go from an A/B cup (sort of in between) to a definate D (and go up one band size as well) in pregnancy ... and then when nursing I probably go up to DD, I never measured but it is a dramatic difference. (normal size is 36a and by nursing/right after baby is born I'm a 38DD I think).
