How much have you spent on cloth diapers?
around $100 for dd1. i was able to borrow lots of stuff from friends that were inbetween children. stash of fitted and AIO. gave all away at the end

for dd2, since they were so far apart, i've had to buy a whole new stash. about $175 spent with maybe $50 more to go to make it to toddlerhood. i was able to sell my nb prefolds for cost so you can subtract $40. stash of only prefolds. will give all that remains to a expecting family member.

so 2 dc and $285

I got really caught up in buying different things to try and before I knew it I was up to $2000 Luckily DH pulled me in, and now all of the fancy fitteds that were big $$ are nearly shot and the pockets and motherease are the ones that will last past the third baby. But I'm using them until they shred, so I've still 'saved money' and nearly all of my stash was from fsot, so it makes me feel a little better that I've reused unwanted diapers. Still, I wouldn't pay what I did for used diapers now that I know how fast they wear.

My Own Answer

I've got about $900 invested. Some of it was gifts though, and some of it was lost by movers and we got cash for it.

It sounds like a lot to me when I total it up, but we have four kids and quite a lot of diapers. I've had two in cloth at the same time on three occasions, and a lot of my stuff was purchased in Canada where prices are higher. My first two FuzziBunz were $28 each with inserts. I have one BumGenius that I paid about same for in an emergency.

I think I have spent about $400, and I am living in Brasil where ALL of it is in-demand and will be easily resold later on.
I've spent over $1000.

It COULD have been done much, much cheaper though. But this was my one 'luxury' thing I was able to do to prepare for our DS, so I went a little crazy with it. They are so fun and cute I couldnt help myself.

I plan to spend about $300 but just for the first 3 months to try several things out for my newborn and then hopefully not too much more after that. There is also a thread on this on page 5 of this thread - I don't know if this will get you there but here it is:

we didn't start CDing with DD until about 9 months, and for her I've spent about $180, and that will get her through PLing, though we don't use cloth at night and skip it on days that someone's sick or sometimes if she's being babysat. with #2 on the way I plan on starting CDing from the begginning and hope to be more consistant with it. my planned NB/small stash will be about $250 if I get everything new. depending on the gender of the baby on the way I may need some new Medium covers, if so, add another $85. so total with the two $430-$515. though obviously that may change some.

Probably around $400 - for two kids so far.
~$400, plus some money spent by my parents when they bought some medium Fuzzi Bunz for DS1 when he was about 3 months. That has diapered 4 kids now, so I'm very pleased with my expenditure!

Around $650 for all my stash and wet bags (we have 8 wetbags in different sizes for home and daycare). I figure that's 6 months of disposables so we've already broken even.
Over the past 9 years, um...probably thousands. Savings of cloth over disposables is nice, but wasn't my main reason for going with cloth. That's my excuse, anyway. :

Even spending thousands on diapers I'm sure that you're ahead after nine years. $50 a month on disposable diapers and wipes over nine years is $5400, and washing only costs about $100 a year for most people.

$400ish
About $300, but we got a huge stash of fuzzibunz for only $75 so i only had to get prefolds./covers for 2 sizes.
About $180. I bought mostly medium pockets from WAHMs, 2 AIO's, several prefolds (about half gifted). So hope they will last until PL (they also fit my 3 yo PL DS).

I wash every two days. My DD is 4 months.

We've spent close to $800.00, but only because I got sucked into the Goodmama craze during a sale last year. I'm going to be spending more in the next couple of weeks to buy new nightime diapers and our first wool. That being said, I won't have to buy much of anything for this new baby!
Maybe $300 on diapers that have been or will be used on three kids. I dont use them full time but probably 75% of the time. They are sti in good shape and I will probably be able to resell them for some amount of that cost.
I've spent about $1000. I justify it by saying it is cheaper than disposables as long as we use them for more than a year (I figure disposables cost about $1000/year).

I keep a pretty decent record numbers here are obvioulsy rounded to nearest dollar..

My birth- 4 month stash
$240

stash for accessories that I'l use throughout CD wet bags pins wipes sprays lotions sprayer ect $120

cost of onesize stash that should carry me to PT
$340

TOTAL invested $700

minus resale of NB stash/ FSOT on items that didn't quite work ... -$255.00

SO FINIAL cost $$445
