Can you help me figure out the savings in this?

I have this range:
http://www.electroluxappliances.com/...ric/ew30es65gs
It has one big main oven, and a second drawer-style smaller oven below (the thing that looks like a pot drawer is an oven).

We are considering buying a toaster oven because right now my range is broken, but we were considering buying one anyway.

What I want to know is how much electricity I would save (after my range is fixed!) by using my toaster oven instead of the full oven or small oven on my range for items that are toaster oven-able.

I know it depends on the toaster oven I choose, but assume I would choose a nicer induction model, of moderate size. You could even recommend one if you like .

I'd like to figure out the energy use difference and calculate an estimated cost benefit to decide how much effort to make to use the toaster oven over the range.

Your range has a wattage of 2500 watts for either the bake element or the convection element. Toaster ovens use maybe 1500 watts. So for every hour of baking, you might save one kilowatt-hour worth of electricity by using the toaster oven. Electricity here cost about 9 cents per kilowatt-hour, but there are taxes on top of that.

Forgot to add that your broiler oven element can use up to 4000 watts, and that your stove probably has better insulation than a toaster oven would, so it wouldn't necessarily have to fire up the heating elements as often or as long.

Thank you!!!!

So that means if I used the toaster oven ten times a month in place of the oven, I'd save 86 cents (we're 8.6 cents/kWh).

Doesn't seem worth the effort to fit it all in the toaster oven (we're a bigger family).

I appreciate the help.

I mostly use my toaster oven when I don't want the big oven to heat up the house. I haven't done any math but I imagine I save some by not causing the AC to work harder. That might be something to consider too.
