Nut sensitivity in BF baby???

DS is almost 8 weeks old and after spending 2 hours with my midwife yesterday at my six week appt (little late ), she asked if he was always so fussy. I said yes... he's pretty happy in the morning but then from after the 2nd feeding on he is pretty fussy all day. She asked if I'd tried eliminating any foods from my diet. We went through looking for the usual suspects: I eat very little dairy, rarely eat chocolate, no soy (i'm intolerant of it). Actually I pretty much eat the same things all the time: oatmeal and peanut butter toast for breakfast, turkey sandwich for lunch, and my snacks are fruit (apples & bananas) and cashews. Dinner varies.

So we wondered if it might be the nuts? Is this totally crazy? Anybody ever heard of this? I have started eliminating them from my diet, so far so good but it's only been 24 hours.

Just curious if anybody had any thoughts.

I don't know about nut sensitivity in EBF babies, but my allergist has me off all types of nuts while pg and BFing to help prevent allergy in my baby, because I have a walnut allergy, and he said that even while BFing, the baby who's exposed via breast milk before 6 months has a greater chance of developing an allergy, but idk if he meant now, or in the future.

Have you asked over in Health and Healing, on the allergy forum? Those ladies are a wealth of information.

I've felt like my baby is sensitive to nuts, especially peanuts. I eliminated it along with dairy. He seems some better. I can't guarantee that's what he's reacting to but it seems similar, but somewhat less of a response as he has when I eat seafood & eggs (he screams like a banchie after his next feeding after I've eaten those 2). Kind of worrisome since he reacts so strongly to those.
DS1 reacted to odd things: brown rice, sunflower seeds, strawberries along with soy, dairy, tomato. So, I think they can react to anything. Just hard determining which one(s)!
