Sensitive ovaries?

Since I went off of BC in May, I have noticed that my ovaries are sensitive for a few weeks each month. This cycle, it started in my left ov around CD7 (pretty sure I O'ed from my right last month, so this one will probably O this month). It's not painful; it's just enough to make me conscious of having an ovary. The ovary usually stays sensitive for a few days after O, and then I'll wake up one morning and not feel a thing until the next month, about seven days before O. Anyone ever experienced something similar?

I've gotta say. I haven't had this before but the reason I clicked on this is I have it this cycle for the first time. About cd6-7 I noticed the sensation. It isn't painful, just like aware of it, you know? I wonder what it is? I hope it's good.

Hiya!

I get 'twingy' near my ovaries every month. A couple of days ago, DH looked at my funny and said "Are you sure you're not ovulating?" 'cause I was giving my ovary a little rub to alleviate the twinge...

Incidentally, I always feel it on the left side, though I am pretty sure both ovaries are in operation, and I have heard the sensations don't necessarily correspond with which ovary is producing the egg.

Funny, normally I just feel twingy around O time, maybe a few days before. This time the right side (I always only feel it on the R side) the ovary almost feels swollen if that's possible. It's probably my frickin' liver or something

Yes, it's sort of like a swollen ovary that I feel. Only it's not painful or even uncomfortable; it's just there. Since it seems to happen every month (this is my fourth cycle off BC), I'm wondering if it has to do with the growing follicle. I really don't think it's a cyst, since it goes back and forth each month and follows my cycle.

for me it would only happen 2 days before O... but always would happen 2 days before O (its different for every woman though of course)

I felt it on the right side and my first ultrasound confirmed not only that I Oed from my right ovary but ALSO that DD2 implanted on my right side, where I felt an odd poking at about 5-6dpo!

Yep, this happened to me when I went off BC. I had fairly painful ovary sensation around O for a few months. It did ease up after a few cycles. I headr somewhere at the time that it was normal when returning to your normal cycles. This was some years ago before I ever got pg, the second time I went off BC I didn't notice this, but then again I got pg on my first egg (although second month) off BC.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Ever since I had my IUD put in and removed (after bleeding for 2 months straight) and developed a cyst, I've had a pinching feeling in my left ovary almost constantly. It's not at a specific time in my cycle either.

We had a consultation at SIRM last week. I mentioned that I had O pain on day of O and sometimes the day before O. The doc said that you are feeling the follicles swelling and getting ready to burst. He said after O the pain will go away. It was nice to hear a doc confirm it for me. I have read other people say their docs have told them O pain is a myth.
