Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I wondered whether there is scope on this forum to use the resource page more efficiently. I note that it is administered by MDC – but hasn’t been updated in a year. There could be so much more there if it or another page were open to subscribers.
I don’t know how these things work, but I guess it might mean that people would have to be mindful of this when they post (i.e. make sure they add the resource to the page). Then there would be a notification of some sort. There is a wealth of information here and it would be so good to have some of the suggestions distilled in the resources section. Is this feasible?
Perhaps a little ambitious, but I envisage being able to look up things like (only suggestions off the top of my head):
Waldorf Reading – subheadings could be: intro Waldorf; Infants; Early Childhood;
Shopping – crafts, toys, etc.
Festivals – dates; celebrations; crafts; whatever…
Seasons – e.g. Spring: nature table ideas; spring food; outside activities; crafts;
Craft instructions – wood, felting, knitting, sewing, …
Play ideas – inside; outside;
Waldorf Blogs: Northern Hemisphere/Southern Hemisphere (BTW I’d love to know some Southern hemisphere ones if they exist – it’s lovely having a look at the Northern hemisphere ones but they don’t fit in with our seasons “down under”!)
Verses – morning/evening, mealtimes, “procedures” (e.g. washing hands, finger knitting, chopping vegies….)
The list could go on!
The problem would be someone… would have to go through the forum and cut and paste to this page and then maintain it. I guess. As I said I don’t know how these things work. Then when people ask a question about resources the answers could be distilled and put up here somehow (perhaps the person asking the question could do this or the respondents could , I don’t know. And people could contribute any time they thought of something new – no long discussions, just put things there and the group could be somehow notified that there’s something new there. Perhaps it would need to be moderated.
Just putting it out there. How keen would you be to have this working?
