what to eat/drink after the 3 hr GTT?

I only have about an hour left to eat something before I have to fast for the 3 hr GTT. I'm a little concerned about how I'm going to feel afterwards, esp since I'm going to the appointment alone and have to do a bit of walking.

Is it a good idea to eat/drink something after the last blood draw? Or will that stress my body more? The midwife I spoke to did say I should bring a snack but I didn't ask her what she recommended.

Any ideas?

Cheese? something high protien, and I would go with LOT OF WATER!!!!!!!!!! Nuts would be good too I think

I'm definitely bringing a giant bottle of water, especially since I guess I can't really drink any between now and the start of the test.

I wasn't even allowed to drink DURING the test. I had some granola bars in the car and stopped for a cheeseburger on the way home (30 min. drive ). I wouldn't plan anything else for the rest of the day-I pretty much crashed.

No water? There's no way I could do that test. I dehydrate easily (especially in 95 degree heat!!) and even though I had tons of water before the cutoff for the 1 hour test I was chugging it again as soon as I was allowed after the test.

I was allowed some sips of water during the test. I brought my giant SIGG bottle with me and was sitting in a room by myself, so no one was monitoring me. I could've been eating a cheeseburger or snorting coke for all they knew!

I just got home and am STARVING. I'm also EXHAUSTED. Due in small part to not getting the full 8 hours of sleep I so desperately need these days, but I'm also crashing hardcore from the test. A nap seems to be on the agenda.
