How long is this phase!!?!?!Sleep deprived mama here....

DS is 11months.
He has always been a very active "high needs" type baby. We cosleep for most of the night. He is an all night nurser, and for the most part I have adjusted to his needs- phases of nursing every hour... The longest stretch he's ever slept is I think 4 hours (one time) I removed the clock from the bedroom because i was waking up looking at the time and getting frustrated.
He rolled and army crawled for the longest time. About a week and a half ago he realized he could lift his belly up and cross crawl. That evening he pulled himself up, inched himself around the ottoman and let go! He's been pracicong crawling cruising and standing ever since. And that includes all night long. He wakes himself up by sitting or crawling and as we bed share, wakes me up too. And then he gets upset that he's awake and cries. I have to et up and rock him or nurse him,sometimes have to dance with him in the ergo to help him fall back asleep. Between this and the all night nursing I. Am. Getting. Zero. Sleep.
Have I mentioned he's getting 4 teeth as well? I have seen them coming for almost a month already!!
I wish I could do CIO. Not only do I wish I could stomach it, I wish I thought it would work on my boy. Most moms in my circle CIO- so there is no help to be found for me there... I am becoming impatient with everyone- including my baby . My friend has a 4 month old DD who sleeps from 7-6 every night and
I can't even be around them right now. I don't like being resentful. And I am too tired to do anything new. He's tired and cranky. I'm tired and cranky.

how long until he stops waking himself up sitting and crawling? He will pass through this right?

DD is also 11 months, and I was going to post a "what the heck?" thread, too. At about 9 months, she was doing 4-5 hour stretches when we first put her down in her crib--which meant DH and got to sleep all stretched out in bed. Oh, and TOGETHER in bed! DD would wake twice, and I'd bring her to bed and feed her and she's turn around and drift off.

Now she's doing only 3 hours at first, with about 4 wake-ups. But the worst is the fidgeting! Last night she pulled my hair for hours... in her sleep! Her 2 top teeth just came in, and I see 4 more in there ready to come. Plus she's obsessed with pulling herself up, and walking cant be far behind. And she's learning at lightening speed.

I keep reading that sleep is supposed to get better at 11 months, but I'm starting to fear what's next. So no advice, just hang in there, you're not alone!

My DS sounds a lot like your LO, he has never slept more than 3 hours at a stretch. . .maybe once or twice he slept 4 or 5 hours, but it was a total fluke. He nurses all night long, to the point that I have been going to a chiro for pain in my back ans shoulders from holding the side-lying-with-arm-up position all night. I really, really don't want to night wean, and I don't think it will "solve" everything like people always seem to suggest. But its hard when you're in the trenches and no one gets it.

I will say, for your situation right now, we went through the same thing when our guy learned to crawl. OMG, he had a couple weeks of total craziness. Didn't want to sleep, crawling in his sleep, etc. But its pretty normal for any big, new development to cause sleep disruptions. They get so excited about this new skill! It should pass and he'll be back to his normal sleep habits in a few weeks.

When I get frustrated I just try to imagine him as a big, gangly, teen-ager who may not even want to hug me anymore. . .and then these nights with him seem sweeter. Someday we will be able to sleep all alone. . .and then we'll miss those little bodies.
