Great deal on a winter coat?

DD needs a new winter coat. I have *some* to spend, but not a lot. Her last few have been great thrift shop finds, but she's getting old enough that she's not growing as fast, and I would like to get her a good new winter coat as I suspect it will last more than a year.

Anyone trip across any great steals/deals lately?

What size and what type of climate?

"Winter coat" means very different things if your're in Southern CA or Northern Ontario

My response won't help now as much as it will for next season. I regularly shop Sears' end of season sale on winter coats and snow pants. 50% off of the marked down price normally nets me both items for $25 or less.

Good point- it gets to be about 40 below zero here at times, but most of the winter is between 0 and 20. (Montana!) We will be leaving this area however, before next winter, and will be living in a slightly warmer (and wetter) climate.

I usually shop end of season sales, but it just wasn't in the budget at all last spring. I'm celebrating the fact that i get to order her a brand new coat! We've been so broke for so long, it feels good to be able to do that and to finally be climbing out of the financial black hole.

Note- there really isn't much to do for income in a town of 500ish people- even with an advanced education.

Do you have a Burlington Coat Factory in your area? We've always found awesome deals on really high quality coats there. They have only a few online to order, but if you can find a store, they have hundreds to pick from.

Oooh, I hear ya! I think Land's End is having a 25% off one item promo. I quickly looked at my mail yesterday and don't have the info with me at the office. I'll update tonight if I can find it. Nix that. I just remembered it's a post card that fell out of the cataloge I got and is for instore purchases. Do you have a Sears near you that has Lands End in store? Do you get their catalogues? Other idea is the Lands End overstock or daily deal - I think they have a daily deal on their site. I'd check them out.

I live about an hour from the nearest store- which is Walmart. It's another 3 hours to anything else. Sadly, it's got to be an online order lol.

Take a look through the lands end overstock--it's mainly last winter's jackets and even at full price I generally consider their jackets a fairly good deal.

I just noticed that this years Lands End coats have a "grow with me" feature-you can let out the sleeves to make them last longer!

I just got two winter coats for DS from Land's End overstocks, one was $29.99 and one was $19.99...

I was also going to suggest Lands End overstocks.
