what does your toddler drink? - Page 3

DD's 2.5. Not sure if that still counts as a toddler, but she drinks breastmilk, water, watered-down juice on occasion, milkshakes as a treat in town... I was going to say "milk" but actually, it's been months since she requested milk-in-a-cup. Oh, and watered-down ginger beer if I have it. I draw the line at hard likker and all other soft drinks (somehow I can't get my head around the fact that Bundaberg is a soft drink!). We used to do kefir but I got sick, and I think the current batch has been brewing for a month. It's probably dead...

DS1 (3.5) drinks mostly water, maybe one cup of juice a day (but many days none at all) and I try to get him to drink one cup of raw cows' milk w/ protein powder a day (he's *super* picky so its the one way I *know* I can get a variety of vitamins, some good fats & protein in him...). If we're at a restuarnt he can either have apple juice or chocolate milk. Usually picks choc milk

DS2 (1) usually has a sippy cup laying around with some water in it that he sips on throughout the day... Occasionally he'll get a sip or two of somebody's juice or of ds1's milk w/ 'stuff' (protein powder...), but mostly he just drinks water and nurses.

I never offered either of my boys juice till over a year so they got used to drinking plain water... Course' neither has ever been a fan of plain cows' milk and I've never offered anything else.

Mmm. I know you can get it in the states at World Market.

Since my son weaned, we started alternating milks and we give him a bottle of either:

whole cow's milk
unsweetened almond milk
unsweetened coconut milk

each day. He also occasionally gets:

a bit of watered down fruit juice
carrot juice
homemade smoothie (with banana/strawberry and kefir milk)

And obviously, tons of water

18 months old
breastmilk from the tap
water
small amounts of cow milk (usually 2%; sometimes organic)
juice once in a blue moon

I'm not anti cow....when we introduced it initially, too much dairy upset her stomach. It's 2% because that's what's in the house.

Organic whole milk and water.

Water, breastmilk (from the tap), and almond milk. Lately, my supply has been tanking for whatever reason, so he's been having more almond milk with his meals, but most of the time, it's water. He has tasted sips of juice & hot tea from our cups a couple of times.

Water here. He on occasion gets fruit juices, but that's the exception rather than the rule. He would only drink cows milk from a bottle, so when we cut out the bottle, cows milk was also cut out from his diet.

Just breastmilk and water mostly. Sometimes we "flavor" her water with juice.

water, breastmilk, really watered down juice.
like, 1/4 juice to 3/4 water.
sometimes a smoothie with spinach and fruits like pears or strawberries.

i gave him some raw cows milk and he was not interested at all.
once we went to a mexican place and had some horchata, he really liked that (basically its rice milk flavored with cinnamon)
