I'm trying to find out more about slings because I need to have a few available for our Attachment Parenting table at Mamajam, a local mother's day event. Please help me out. I've only ever used the NOJO (Dr. Sears) sling, which I like just fine, but wasn't able to use until DS was 6 months old & could sit in a Kangaroo position. We still use it plenty, though I can't get it adjusted to carry him on the hip because we're both really small, so I can see why another sling might be better. I think I'd really miss the padding though as that seems to help with shoulder pain. Please include some specific reasons as to why you loved/hated different slings. Thanks!

Well I didn't vote because I use 3 different slings for different reasons. Right now I am loving the Kozy because my son is 30 lbs at 15 mos and having him on my hip for extended periods of time is just too uncomfortable. With the Kozy I can carry him on my back for a good hour no problem. We use our Maya everyday to sling-nurse to sleep. It's great for that. And our OTSBH is a good working-horse sling. Great for short trips while driving around town in and out of the car. I happen to like the padded rails--no red marks on ds's chubby little legs And the shoulder padding while somewhat restrictive in terms of how tightly you can cinch it does help out with comfort.

The ones that haven't worked for us have been a KKFP, hip hammock and any frame back carrier. HTH

I voted "Other". I like my Zolo from www.zolowear.com
It is so comfortable, and I've been able to use it since DD was tiny (I got it when she was just a couple weeks old, and have used it ever since). Also, we have used the Kangaroo carry from the beginning - she never did like the cradle carry. The sling supported her just fine even before she had any control over her head and neck.

We are going to try out the MamaBabySling that you can find at Maya Wrap. It's made of a stretchy jersy knit that I like. Much less bulkier than the NOJO or OTSBH. I have a OTSBH and a borrowed Maya wrap. I have to say I prefer the Maya due to the lack of bulk.

I voted pea in the pod because even at 12 months/30lb I can nurse ds in it (and it is the only sling I have been able to nurse in...which is an important thing, so that I can keep up with toddler ds while baby ds is eating). I also like how "packable" it is and how snug ds is in it (I feel safe having him in it hands free). Also, I like how it adjusts based on baby's size and how comfortable it is to wear.

LOL, can I vote for 2? I voted for KK, but I also love my Zolo equally.

My son has his "cranky time" in my graco backpack. It's one of those steel framed ones. It is SUPER light weight and easy to use. DH is even addicted to it!

I also like the adjustable sling with the rings. My fav is from
www.mommaslilnursling

it's the best for quality and style!!

I said other...I like my Chic Papoose pouch slings. But I think y'all might convince me yet to try something more adjustable!

I am a certified (my dh) Sling Junkie. We used the Moby wrap almost exclusively from 6 weeks to 5 months- *loved* it. It totally saved my back. Then she got a bit heavy and I wanted her on my hip, so we learned the Maya. Total fave.
*then* we moved to Maine in the winter when its freezing and I wanted something snuggly, so I got a fleece, windproof adjustable pouch from cozysling.com. It is my exclusive out and about sling and its fabulous. As dd got bigger and heavier I felt the need to move on from the Maya, so I put myself on the list for a Kozy. It just arrived and we're adjusting nicely, tho dd insists on constant movement, but I really like it. oh, and we used the big Kelty carrier before that and she likes that cause she's up high adn can see all around. Kozy will take the place of that tho. I had a NN for awhile, but it never really flowed. Thinkin' about those Zolos though... (oh, we still use the maya exclusively for nursing and walking to sleep)

i HATE my Maya Wrap. Its my least favorite. The tail is a mile long(I have the smallest size) and the fabric is fussy on the rings. As far as ring slings go, I like my Zolo. For pouch style, I like my New Native. For ABCs, I like my homemade podegi. I have a Kozy on the way so that may replace my podegi for back carrying. We'll have to see.
