All week long I have been having what I call "a labor of convenience".
Where I put the kids to bed at 8/8:30, contrax start by 8:45 and are pretty consistent until I get tired and need to go to bed about 11/11:30pm.
Thursday night DH took me for a long walk, and when we got back the contrax were intense. But still went away at bedtime.
Friday I had some contrax in the AM up untill noon, but they went away and after the kids went to bed I had my normal nightly pattern.
today my mom did me a favor and took the older 2 girls on an out of town trip with her. They were gone about 6 hours, and DH took care of our youngest.
That left me free to nap, and bathe in a nice quiet house
It was so peaceful and quite here all day. i think that helped.
When I got up form my nap I was having some good contrax.
Dh and I took the youngest to the mall play area, and then walked around a bit.
BY time the mall closed my contrax were 20-30 seconds and 2.5-4 min apart.
My MW gave me a check at 10:30pm and I was 3cm, 80% and super super soft. baby was -2.
Now it's almost 1am and my contrax are closer to 1min long every 4-5 min.
I'm certain I'm having this baby soon.
My plans to grab a quick nap don;t seem possible!
So I went to bed shortly after I posted this, and slept a bit fitfully until 4am.
I got some good solid stretches of sleep in, but it got to the point where my hips couldn't handle any lying down position during a contrax - no matter how many pillows were involved.
So I woke up at 4am and came downstairs. DH was up because he would be on night shift this week if I wasn't having a baby, so he had to get himself on that schedule. He recharged my timer (I had a contraction timer App on my android portable media player. Sooooooo handy) and then did some stuff like clean up the living room and start blowing up the birth pool.
By 4:30 my contrax were very intense but still less then 1 min long. I was surprised at their intensity - it wasn't like this with the other kids (3 previous births). Looking back - I should've filled the birth pool at this point. But I wanted another 1/2 hour before even turning on the hose.
At 5am I called my MW to come back, and started filling up my birth pool. My contrax were just under 1min long - the 1st 1/2 of each contraction was like getting hit by a train. I kept thinking "things are either moving very fast, or I have become a huge wimp" LMAO.
My MW and her new apprentice got her just a few min.s after 6am (both coming from the far side of town, so I thought was pretty fast for women I had woken out of a cold sleep! ). Before they had showed up i had been in and out of the pool because initially the water was too hot. And let me tell you -the 4 contrax I had out of the pool after having been in?? Gawd Awfull.
I gratefully got back in the cooled off pool and never left again
Once my MW and her apprentice showed up it was obvious that things were moving super fast. They had enough time to get their stuff out of the car, take my vitals, check the baby heartbeat, and do 1 cervical check.
Then it was time to get down to buisness.
According to the time stamp on the video (lol! because otherwise I would have no idea!) I started pushing at 6:39. AM
My water broke @ 6:45. AM
Niairah Jade was born at 6:47 AM
baby girl #4 and my largest baby ever - 7lbs 8oz and 21 inches long.
She has lots of black hair ans what appear to be blue eyes!
