How can I keep my arm awake!?!?!

I can't sleep more than an hour or two at a time because my right arm goes sound asleep. Painfully, can't feel it numb. It takes a few minutes to wake it back up again, and as soon as I lay down it starts to fall asleep again.

Actually, it's falling asleep while I try to type this.

I am exhausted. I desperately need 6 hours of continuous sleep. Desperate.

I went to a chiro Friday, and I go again Monday. She lined up a bunch of stuff that was out of place, and I felt much better...but still had a touch of the tingly feeling in my arm. Last night was awful.

Any tips?

I was just going to suggest a chiro. But you are already doing that. That's what worked for me.

Mine falls asleep using my mouse. I have no clue. Going to sub this thread so I can see any suggestions too.

Would that be a circulation issue? Or, is that a common pregnancy side effect? I would hate that!

I have the same problem! I'm guessing it's a circulation problem due to pregnancy. Do you have low blood pressure? I do.

I have a similar issue with my left arm. My mw believes it's pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel. Researching that online has convinced me she's correct (because I thought she was nuts at first!)

I've been using a wrist brace, and it's helped a bit. There's not much more that can be done.

I had this with DS1. It was pregnancy induced carpel tunnel. I made sure not to lay or lean on my arm when sleeping. Elevated arm-dont tuck your wrists. I wore stiff arm braces to sleep in. It helped, but didn't make it go away. Birth was the cure!

i used to be a gardener before i became a mommy so my right arm was always falling asleep. a good stretching thing is to flip your hand over palm up and firmly run your thumb from the beginning of your wrist down. it helps stretch the tendon and always helped me.

You sound exactly like me! I'm getting so sleep deprived. I never had this with my three previous pregnancies. Mine is odd, if I'm laying on my left side, my entire right arm and hand fall asleep. So it's not like I'm laying on it. I'm going to try the chiro this week. I tried massage and that didn't do much

Last year, my arm kept falling asleep...I tried for months to figure it out (and it was really starting to freak me out). I was about to chalk it up to carpal tunnel, too...

...and then I figured out it was my BRAS. I had gotten some new ones that pinched my right shoulder a little when typing. (And I type maybe 10-12 hours a day.) I tossed 'em and got new bras with better shoulder straps and went back to some of my old favorite bras, and within a week, no more falling asleep!

Don't know if that's what's going on for you, but thought I'd share in case this is helpful to anyone.

Thanks for all the replies!

I have noticed trouble getting headaches because of my clothing before, but I'm really careful about that now.

And, yes, I do tend to have low blood pressure.

Could it be carpel tunnel since it's my entire arm? From the shoulder down?

I tried using more pillows last night, and that helped a lot. I made a 2 pillow stack for my head, so my head and neck could stay straight when I slept on my side. I propped up my belly with one pillow (just a bit) so I didn't sink into the bed, and I put a pillow between my knees. My arm didn't start falling asleep until this morning when the pillows had shifted! So, I got to sleep from 11-2, then from 2-5, and from 5-7! Without waking would have been nice to not wake up, but at least I got a few longer stretches!
