I am distressed. Apparently in our house we have special fleas that will *never* die.
I have a lot of pets--four cats, three dogs. All of them are treated with Frontline monthly. (I've also tried a million natural things before resorting to chemical treatments.)
I put Frontline on my animals last week, and they still have fleas. Not just a few fleas, but lots of fleas. My white long haired cat is totally infested again, even though I just shaved him to the skin and bathed him. He had enough Frontline on him to treat a horse, I swear. I don't know why I'm wasting money regularly treating my pets with those chemicals when they don't even work! We have also tried Revolution, and it doesn't work either. I've washed and rewashed all of the sheets, blankets, couch covers, and rugs in my house. Mopped everywhere--we only have hardwood.
We've got some Nylar to spray today, the flea growth restricting stuff, and I'm hoping that works. I've been giving my pets flea baths with nasty flea shampoo weekly, and legions of fleas come off each time. (I wait a week after putting Frontline on before bathing, just in case.) After each animal dries I rub them with diatomaceous earth for good measure.
Do you have any other tips? The flea dirt is so incredibly nasty and I can't stand it!! I want to run away from my own home. I keep imagining (or not!?) that I have fleas in my hair. I am desperate to get rid of the fleas and I will do just about anything to rid of them at this point. I'm afraid if we go as far as flea bombing that the fleas will just come right back and I'll have coated my home in chemicals for nothing.
HELP!!
