Nursing success stories during pregnany, got one?

There are so many depressing "I lost my supply when I got pregnant" stories that I thought I'd ask you if you have a positive story to share? Were you able to keep your supply while pregnant?

We have a magnificent 8.5 DD and TTC. My BIGGEST fear is losing my nursing relationship with DD due to low supply. . .but I was looking around and SOME mamas have been able to nurse through out the pregnancy. Looking for positive stories!

Anyone?

So, I feel like my story is a success, because my goal was for my DD to continue to nurse through pregnancy.... and we made it!

I must add that my milk did dry up at 4 weeks pregnant (even before I got a positive pregnancy test). DD continued to nurse through the pregnancy and now DD2 is 2 weeks old, I am tandem nursing. DD1 loves that the milk is back and we are going strong (although, she wants it all the time....)

My sister in law was able to keep her supply up until she was 7 months pregnant and I think would have kept it till the end, except she said it was too uncomfortable and wanted to wean before baby arrived.

Good luck.

My DD nursed through my pregnancy. She is a bit older, however, at 3.5 (years!). There was a brief period during which she complained that it was "broken" (ha), but it only lasted a couple of weeks. Otherwise, she reported that it was "working" all the time. The period without milk was around the late 6 or early 7 month mark. After that, she said that it was working, but not well, but that the milk was extra yummy. (I think colostrum instead of milk). Now that the babies here, of course, she is in milk heaven.

My nipples did get extra sensitive during pregnancy, and latching her on was quite painful, particullarly in the late first trimester. A pins and needles sensation throughout the breast combined with a sharp stab right behind the nipple. Ouch! I just limited the time I allowed her to nurse, and that worked out well for us.

My DS1 was 17mos when I got pregnant. He nursed through my whole pregnancy, sometimes it would be days in between (his choice) sometimes he would nurse a lot - it hurt a lot until around 6mos when my supply built back up and then it felt fine, and he love it and nursed like crazy! The cool thing is that he helped my milk come in really fast too! And nothing is more beautiful than watching 2 babies look at each other across mommy's chest as the drink mommy milk!

This was pretty much my experience too. My second was just short of two when his little brother was born. He nursed all through my pregnancy and for a year afterward. I did dry up almost completely for about during the beginning of the third trimester, but it did not faze him much at all.

my dd1 was 2 when I got pregnant with dd2- she continued to nurse often until I was about 6 months. my milk decreased and she nightweaned. After she nightweaned, I think my milk was pretty low- she only nursed about once a day until I gave birth and she said she no longer wanted to nurse because "there is baby slime all over them"
lol

my dd2 was 9.5months and exclusively breastfed when i got pregnant. we did start having her eat a bit more because i was worried about supply, but i didnt notice a significant drop in my milk until i was about 6-7 months pregnant. ''i for sure did NOT "dry up", it just decreased considerably. she continued to nurse multiple times a day and to nap/sleep, etc. and is still nursing at 2.5.

i was VERY worried about losing my connection/nursing relationships.

it was hard at times, i did want to wean a couple times while pregnant and in my postpartum days, but now that we are settled back down- i am so grateful i kept on nursing. the other day they were tandem nursing and holding hands, sometimes ds will rest his hand on dd2's face.

its so sweet. so sweet.
