The Fabulous ONE Thread - September 19-25 - Page 3

Ugh, Val that sounds awful. I am so sorry you went through this. Over the last few years my overall opinion of the medical profession has been circling the toilet. Any chance of getting in somewhere else for a second opinion?

I have an 8 day luteal phase, and this month have really stepped up the supplements in attempts to get things evened out. I am taking B6, maca, vitex and zinc. I am really hoping it does something.

ValH, I know the feeling... I remember my gynecologist saying it was perfectly normal for my cervix to bleed every time I DTD and to have periods that last 2 weeks and LPs that last 8 days.

I went to see a naturopath also for the same issues and she was a lot more concerned about the cervix and the bleeding (she couldn't believe my gynecologist thought it was ok) but wasn't too worried about the LPs (I wasn't TTC yet at that time, so I can agree that a short LP is not a big deal if you aren't TTC). She helped me heal my cervix with a bunch of herbal supplements, they really worked! However nothing we tried helped with the LP.

I am not going to bother going to a regular doctor with my problems until I have been TTC at least 6-12 months because I am sure they will just dismiss my concerns like they did for you, but I can't stand the thought of sitting around doing nothing about my LP so now I am seeing an acupuncturist, I have just started so hopefully I get some results there.

May I join? I'm TTC #3, waiting for PPAF. But the past two days I've had blood mixed with EW at my cervix (not reaching panties yet) and some cramping bloating, AF-y symptoms. So I'm hoping this is the beginning of something...

I forget - on the New Choice OPKs from Dollar Tree, what should the positive line look like? Does the entire line have to be as dark as the control? Or is it considered positive if half the line is as dark as the control?

I took an OPK Saturday and it was pretty darn close to the control line, just a smidge lighter on one edge. I missed testing on Sunday. Yesterday, the test line was half dark, half light, but a little lighter than Saturday. Today? Stark white.

I'm not taking my temps. I was just using my OPKs and doing some half-a$$ed CM monitoring this cycle. It's our first cycle TTC after my miscarriage in April.

Sure I can add you! welcome! Do you want to be under waiting for AF? Bold what you want added or changed each time and it will make it easier for who ever the thread keep is each week. Good luck!!! Hopefully your body is gearing up to be fertile again and your stay here will be short.

ValH - I am so sorry about your appointment. I hate when doctors totally dismiss you. I agree w/ Just_lily, can you get a second opinion?

Yes, Waiting for AF. After it taking 10 months to conceive #2, we're wanting to start trying asap!

Thanks for the responses on my doctor's visit - it's kind of reassuring to know I'm not the only one with that experience, but very disturbing to know that traditional gynecologists suck so much! Ugh! After spending a majority of the day in tears, I'm determined to up my supplements and attack the next cycle full force. I've been reading online about Vitex - for those of you that take it, where do you get it? I know the local Wal-Mart doesn't carried it (I checked). As for a second opinion - I already have my annual appointment scheduled for November with a different doctor - I had decided before today that I wasn't happy with her responses to my concerns.

KaliShanti - welcome to the threat, and good luck!

MrsMike - I've only used that brand of OPK a few times, and wasn't a big fan because I could never figure out what was a "true" positive with them. I would guess, though, that your positive was probably either Saturday or Sunday, but that's purely a guess. Good luck!

I picked up my vitex and maca at our local health food store. I asked the girl who was working and she knew exactly what I was talking about. I was afraid it would be something obscure, but she took me right to it.

I am going to the doctor tomorrow for a pap and pelvic exam. I am going to tell her about my 3 early losses over the past year. I am pretty sure I am ovulating so I dont see the point in checking, but I will let her do all the fertility tests she can. I am pretty depressed after this last loss. Not feeling to hopeful.

For now, just the 2ww, but I emailed my friend who told me about it to find out if I should continue or stop once I get BFP.

Welcome back Attached2Elijah!

Stevi and Sarah2881 - about the pink CM... couldn't just be some late implantation spotting, could it???

Attached2Elijah - Welcome back!

Lydiah - Good luck at the doctor! I hope you get some answers, or at least get the ball moving on some testing.

Saoirse2007 - Welcome back to the thread, and good luck!

AFM - I took the last dose of progesterone yesterday, so now I'm just waiting for AF to show up. I've been spotting pretty steady since Monday, so I'm hoping it won't take her too long to get here - I'm leaving for vacation on Sunday, and sure would like her to be on her way out by then! I'll have to wait until after my vacation to start the extra supplements - DH isn't a big fan of "supplements," and will be kind of hard to sneak.

Welcome KaliShanti!

Valh, I also got my supplements from the local health food store. I'm just taking Vitex and a B100 complex. I just got of BCP's at the beg of Aug, and last month my LP was 9 days, so since it was on the cusp, I figured that those two were the most specific and would probably help me shake the BCP alterations. I know most people wait to see if their cycle will work out on their own, but I only have a short window to try (in nursing school) so i wanted to max my chances.

I think I O'd on CD14, but what do you guys think?

I wanted to BD yesterday, but I had 8 hours of clinical time at the hospital and then had to spend 7 hours after that preparing for my clinical today. So by the time bedtime came around, I was almost unconscious! Maybe I'll try to get one in today..just to feel like I'm not giving up the ball..
