Fairy book recommendations?

Thread Starter
This summer dd discovered the Rainbow Magic books. She read all 70 or so of them this summer. We tried the Fairy Realm books but she didn't like the first one (probably because the fairies didn't feature prominently enough in it at the beginning). She's now reading the Disney Fairy books, but we're running out of those too.

Any other fairy books out there that are appropriate for a 6 year old? (Not too scary, entirely predictable plot seems to be OK.) I'm not so worried about reading level as she's a strong, avid reader. She'll rise to whatever level needed if she's really interested (OK, probably anything 4th-5th grade or under is OK).

We haven't read them, b/c DD is only 4, but we like her picture books.
Good luck,

How about The Fairy Chronicles by J.H. Sweet?
They aren't as cookie cutter as the Rainbow Magic books but each story follows the same storyline arch. Girls hanging out together, mentors come to take them to a fairy meeting because the world needs saving, girls work together with help of others and save the shell of laughter (or what have you.) The world is safe again.
They are a little more intense than the Rainbow Magic books, but not too scary.

Not Fairies but the Mermaid SOS is about the same level and plot type as Rainbow Fairies.

My DD adored the Fairy Chronicles! She read those after the Rainbow Magic ones. They are great books!

fairy houses

The books by Tracy Kane are great. We have a book that's called Fairy Houses Everywhere! , photographs of fairy houses people have made. My DD loves making them. There's another I think called Kristen's Fairy House, or something like that. And a short "movie" with the author and her neice, Kristen, on Monhegan Island in Maine, making fairy houses. http://www.fairyhouses.com/
