Well Woman Care Recommendations for Raleigh

Hi all,

Just moved to Raleigh - loving it so far. I scoped out previous postings and think I've found a dentist and pediatrician, but am looking for suggestions for well woman care - would love a one stop shop for all my health care needs (which are pretty few at this point - knock wood) - birthing days are over, but still need the occasional pap and regular check up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - prefer to stay in Raleigh/Cary area - but am working in RTP, so really anywhere is probably doable.

Saw suggestions for Dr. Jeffries at North Raleigh Family Medical, but can't tell if he does female exams - otherwise like his approach as described on website.

Dr. Jeffries is amazing and so is his NP, Jolena. Love her!! If our insurance was still in network with them that's where I would be. Go see Jolena, you won't be dissapointed!

Not sure if you ever found someone, but I searched online after we moved here and found Dr. Serina Floyd who's with Duke and one of her locations is over in Brier Creek. She was wonderful!! I have a family history of breast cancer (mom was just a couple of years old than I am now), and unlike a couple of others I've seen in the past, she didn't hesitate to send me for another mammogram. If you're concerned about alternatives as well, she seems to have some great suggestions for them that aren't drug-related.

She also has an MPH in Maternal & Child Health, so I felt like she came from a place I was comfortable with... does that make sense? She was patient-centered and not too clinical at all. I felt comfortable chatting with her.

I have used Dr. Sandy Hoyte at women's primary care. http://www.womensprimarycare-raleigh.com/wpc2.htm I'm with you, don't need the birth end of things anymore...only teach others about birth!

This is the one and only primary care practice just for Women run by Women! I have been going to her for probably 12 plus years and have always had a good experience. She is very earth friendly in her practice. The thing I like best is that she takes the time with each patient, you go into her office after the exam to discuss things. No lab coats and her dog in the office...a nice concept for a relaxed feeling!

Give her a try, you won't regret it.
