I work as a vet tech in an emergency clinic. Today, we had a 4 month old kitten with a severely fractured femur. He would have been euthanized, but the owners' decided to turn him over to the clinic because I agreed to take on the financial responsibility and ultimately the kitty, if he works out in our home.
Tonight, his right hind leg was amputated and I had him neutered as well. Surgery went well and I pick up in the morning to continue care at home. Wish me luck!
