AF is late & BFN, what's going on?

Well I thought AF was coming Thursday. Now it's Monday & still hasn't started. My cycles have been very regular since they returned when DS was ~9mos old.

I've had AF symptoms for 6 days now. What's up with that? I usually only start having cramps a few hours before AF starts, sometimes not 'til after it starts. But I have every AF symptom (cramps, funny digestion, moody) plus I keep having a watery discharge that sends me running to the bathroom expecting to see red. FOR 6 DAYS NOW. I also had non-normal (for me) AF symptoms, a sharp pain in my cervix & some severe nausea on Friday night... Oh and I took a HPT Saturday evening, it was negative. With DS I got a light + HPT 9dpo so I'm pretty sure I waited long enough to test since (though I wasn't charting) I estimate I would've been about 16dpo Sat.

I'm still BF'ing 19mo DS very frequently. In fact, last Tues/Wed I just had a HUGE unexplained increase in supply (I have chronic oversupply) that took me a few days to get back under control. I wonder if that could have delayed AF??? Honestly though I'd love to be pregnant, since I got the - HPT and am obviously not, I just want AF to start because we are going on vacation in a few days & I want AF to be GONE by then!!

I am in the same boat as you period is late and BFNs all over the place) except I am not BFing, Im sorry I didnt notice if you said you chart your temps or not...I know BF'ing can delay or even mess with ovulation alltogether, if you are having an anovulatory cycle you AF can stay away for as long as it feels it wants to... I know my periods were VERY irregular while i BF my DS (now he's 13, wow time flys) some months id get it perfectly on time sometimes id miss a period completely.
I believe the doc can give you something to bring it on (but id verify that it wont hurt while BFing)...if you did ovulate, maybe you ovulated late hance your AF would not arrive until about 14 days post O..... I ovulated on CD19 (4 days later than normal)today is cd35, should have gotten AF 2-3days ago. I have also read if you are pregnant the milk supply may decrease for the first few weeks, BF'ing can also cause cramping, that's what many women do to flatten bellys sooner post delivery because it causes uterus contractions. But you have been breast feeding over a yr so I think you are past that point.
I know i didnt answer your question and forgive me if I have given you redundant information that you already knew.
good luck

Bummer. I had early false negatives with my first two boys, so that was the first thing I thought of. But the last time this happened (a few months ago) I finally started and had a long heavy AF. I hope that isn't the case for you. It does sound like you'll start anytime now.

Oh man. I hope this doesn't ruin my vacation. I mean, we were already disappointed about the BFN & if I end up with a long & heavy period that destroys my vacation I'm going to be doubly upset.

I haven't been charting but I was paying attention & I am almost positive I o'ed during the first week of Sept, and we DTD several times that week. And I usually have short luteal phases. I just remembered that I was really sick right after I got AF last month so maybe I never o'ed and just thought I did??? Grrr I'm so confused. Plus DH & I were hoping that if this cycle was a miss, we'd be able to try again during our vacation, so now that's not gonna happen either.

Now I'm roughly 19dpo (cd 35!) and still no AF. Just took another test to be sure & there wasn't even a trace of a line It is NOT FAIR to have an unusually long cycle when you're TTC!!! It plays with your mind!! I keep thinking I'm pg but am clearly not, I'm going nuts!!

I'm going crazy as well..I went through the same thing about 2 months ago and it was nothing but a late AF.

If you are still feeling different and think you could be pregnant then I would get a blood test. With my third pregnancy I couldnt get a +HPT for anything and only was able to find out via blood test that I was indeed pregnant. Good luck.

Adams -- I think you are giving me false hope!!

After 2 negative tests (not even a HINT of a line) I am pretty sure I'm not but it is definitely weird that I've been feeling odd & no AF. I guess if we come back from vacation in a week & a half and I still haven't got it then I will try a blood test!!

it might be an anovulatory cycle....I think that had it happen to me...as told to me by the wise mdc ladies then af was very light and only 2 days

but I got pg the very next cycle!

and without charting you could've ovulated later than you think. I hope it becomes apparent soon!
