This was is the news today. I really don't know what to make of this article. There is a TON of information missing.

I've got a pretty good sense that the news outlets claiming that this is in the September issue of Annals of Neurology are mistaken. This at least has a DOI, which doesn't go anywhere yet.

[ETA.--Somewhat more complete summary here.]

Our ped is a vaccine friendly dr on Dr Sear's list. One of her own kids is unvaxxed. But when discussing maybe getting my 5 yr old his first shot/Dtap, she said a lot of parents say "I'd rather have my child get the illness than the shot." And she says she always tells parents to be careful what you wish for. In her opinion, she says kids that would have a reaction to the vaccine could very well likely have a much worse time with the disease. We don't vax b/c of a very high rate of autism on DH's side of the family. And she has a child in her practice who got pertussis, got encephelitis from pertussis, and he became autistic. I still haven't made up my mind (have a baby due in March which is why i became extra concerned with this new wave in pertussis).
