Just want to share in case others find themselves in the same barfy boat...

Okay so I may be a little dense and I'm not sure what took me so long to try Zantac but I finally did and it has changed my life. I was truly very depressed this time last week. I have had what felt like severe MS relentlessly since 6 weeks preg (I am now 37 weeks). I was even hospitalized for weeks 9 & 10 because the vomiting was like convulsions that nothing could stop. I've been on a very high dose of Diclectin (up to 10x day) ever since, as well as a range of other drugs and every natural remedy in the book and STILL I was throwing up at least 3 times a day and feeling so crappy all the time. It was way worse if I tried to skip the Diclectin so it was doing something but nowhere near enough. I had a total break down last week because I was just so tired of being sick (and malnourished and drugged up and grumpy and on and on), at 36 weeks.

Well.... DH went to see a homeopath who is also a pharmacist for me (I was too miserable to go to the appointment myself) and immediately the guy said that we were looking in the wrong direction. That all the earlier vomiting had likely damaged my esophagus and that I had to treat the symptoms as being caused by digestive upset rather than pregnancy hormones. He sent DH home with a homeopathic product to regulate body acidity, along with Maalox and Zantac. Within two hours, I felt ABSOLUTELY NORMAL for the first time in eight months. And I've felt great ever since, not even the slightest wave of nausea. I've stopped taking the Diclectin and all I need is one regular Zantac a day to feel completely wonderfully normal.

So maybe I'm completely stupid for not thinking of this sooner but honestly it felt like regular old MS, not indigestion or anything else. I had a bit of heartburn but nothing that a glass of milk or papaya enzymes couldn't take care of.

Just throwing it out there in case there are others who are still struggling with nausea late in pregnancy and haven't thought to try an acid/gas/indigestion reducer yet.
