I finally found an argument that worked!

I will say DS is circumcised. I wasn't comfortable. DH wanted it. I said only if you are with him entire time and watch. Dh did...I can regret my decision as it was the best I could do at the time, but if I knew then what I know now, then no I wouldn't have.

Still really not comfortable, not real argument has worked with Dh. I finally found one!!!!

We were in a store and saw a magazine cover with a little baby girl with her ears pierced.

Dh was horrified. "Why would you do that to a baby? because it looks cool?!"

I laughed and just said seriously? You don't think its ok to piece a baby's ears because of pain and risk of infection but you think its ok to Circumcise?

He said its different...I just looked at him.

Ok its really not, that's for 'looks' too.

I know someone with just the opposite issue. She totally gets the circumcision issue and her son is intact. She said if she were to ever have a little girl, she'd want to pierce her ears because it is so cute. She was completely aware of the hypocrisy and completely aware that she'd want to do it. She did say she probably wouldn't. I had a good time pointing out her double standard - we were laughing with each other all along the way.
