The best thing about this is that the hospital personnel obviously refused to perform the circ immediately. They gave the dad enough time to get the restraining order. Considering the baby was born on the weekend, that is very important.
If hospital staff were not, so eager to do circs, more cases would go like this one where the objecting parent has time to get a court order. Instead though, you have cases like
Liberal_chick's sister and
Mamasophy's brother, where the hospital just did it right away even though one of the parents was objecting. Those are just 2 cases that we are aware of, I can only imagine how often it actually happens.
I wonder if the objecting parent in cases such as these would be able to sue the hospital? I bet if the boy wanted to sue when they get older, they would be in a pretty good position to.
