Having read accounts from other sister wives, I have heard that punching bags come in handy for dealing with stress and jealousy.

I am sure, like any friend relationship, they have their issues. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I watched and found it totally fascinating. I don't understand it AT ALL - but I will admit I was surprised how *normal* they all were. I don't know, in my mind, I imagined really whacked out people and it's just not at all what I was expecting. They seem to make it work relatively well considering the circumstances, I guess. But I can say I'm not a big fan of the dad/husband. I think they all deserve better. The scenes of him out dating some new chick w/ so much going on at home (and it obviously upsetting the other wives) really bothered me.

I agree with this - it seems like they have a pretty nice, normal, happy life. But the fact that he is dating a new woman squicked me out a bit, especially considering two out of three wives and a couple of the kids were bothered by it.

One way I feel bad for the other wives that he is bringing in a 4th knowing they have jealousy issues and some of the kids are not quite happy with it. But then, these woman chose this life, what else do you expect off a polygamist???

ok, I finally caught a rerun, so I'm caught up now. I really liked it! Their lifestyle is certianly different than what I'm used to, but it was interesting seeing how they make it work. I do find it a little strange that with 3 wives, 13 kids, and a full time job he has time to actually go out and date someone else.

I think she means anything mentioned on a website but isn't mentioned on the show is "gossip/speculation".

I once mentioned something that was on a show's website and it was a no-no.

You can discuss what you see on the show. You can't discuss news reports, articles from gossip magazines like People, things like that. You don't see it because it's been removed.

i'm kind of obsessed with this show. haha.

I think my problem lies in the fact that he isn't taking his other wives feelings into account. Even though they chose this lifestyle and they are happy with it, I think that since he goes on about a family so much, shouldn't the whole family be in agreement?

I do like the 3 wives though. They seem like great mothers and great wives. He kinda gives me a weird vibe, but this show is just so interesting. It's neat to see others with different families.

I live in Utah. This family definitely seems different from the typical polygamists I've seen here, especially the ones in Southern Utah. It makes me wonder how many I've seen and had no idea.

For the most part, I believe in live and let live. That doesn't apply to the typical ones down South, as many of them arrange marriages for their under-age or barely of age daughters and I'm not sure she's really able to fully give her consent. This family seems loving, fully willing, and he can provide for all of them. I don't see anything wrong with that, as he's technically only married to his first wife.

Mamas, if you want to have a focused discussion on the good and bad, ins and outs of polygamy, that needs to take place in Spirituality or Religious Studies, depending on your purpose.

I know it seems like this thread is being actively moderated, and you're right. Reality television has really bumped up against MDC's User Ageement, and we've found that if we let the threads meander too far off the topic of the television show, it ends up getting pulled. I'd really like this thread to stay, but need you to stick to the topic of the television program.

I would just like to thank you for giving reminders and warnings instead of just taking the easy way out and instantly removing the thread. I know it takes more work to read through all of the posts and remove the ones that contain UAVs, but that's how members learn to choose their words more carefully in the future. I watched this and enjoyed it, mostly for seeing the happy kids and the third self proclaimed "domestic" wife who so loves being at home, tending to the kids... very inspirational.

Something about the husband rubs me the wrong way. Yes he is charming, cute, and funny but he strikes me as narcissistic. The women (including the 4th) seem SO in love with him, like they are brainwashed almost. Something just seemed weird about it (not the polygamous aspect, just the dynamic between him and each woman-- it almost felt like "worship" on the women's part).

Seriously, I don't think any of the mods want to just yank stuff without warning. But if it becomes more work than not, especially when it's not core to MDC's purpose, it does end up going bye bye forever. Which makes us (and you) sad.

i watched tonight! i am still really liking the show!

is it just me, or does robyn cry a lot? i feel like she was always crying! it kinda annoyed me.

i feel like the other 3 want robyn as a WIFE and not a GF. i dont thing they like the courting, but want the 4th wife.

I was really bothered by the fact that he seems to understand that this hurts his current family but it's somehow worth it and they'll get over it? How is that loving and kind? I'm going to keep watching but I just felt really disgusted by him tonight.

When does Brother husbands come on? A couple to pay my bills, one to wash the dishes, one to wash the babies, one to do my nails... and of course they better keep themselves pretty!
