Water leaking? Can I test myself?

If I am leaking fluid, it is the worlds slowest anmiotic fluid leak ever. Whatever it is, there is too much for a pantyliner to handle it a work day, but a pad is overkill. Can I use pH paper to test? Where do I get the paper? How do I do the test?

It does not sound like amniotic fluid to me. Sounds like normal increased vaginal secretions that happen at the end of pregnancy. Change your pantiliner mid-day. And mention it to your doctor. If it IS a very slow fluid leak even pH or nitrazine paper is not always accurate. But your doctor can do a fern test, which is more reliable. They put a q-tip into the vagina for a minute to let it soak up some of the fluid, then spread the fluid on a slide. Look at it under a microscope and if it dries in a "fern" pattern (just like fertile cervical mucus), then it's amniotic fluid.

You can do the pH test if you want. You can get pH strips at a pet store in he fish section. Normal discharge is acidic, amniotic fluid is slightly basic.
