vaccines...causing abortions??

Okay, I don't vaccinate, but I"m not some conspiracy theorist. I was linked a video about a man getting arrested for holding up an anti obama sign, so I started digging around on the author's blog, and I found this story (amongst other crazy sounding things) about vaccines possibly causing abortions in Mexico...anyway, I went digging a little and this is what I came up with.

Anyone know anything about this? I don't think vaccines are perfectly safe, but I didn't think "they" were out to kill people with them. I don't have time right now to keep digging into this, so I figured I'd put it out here..it's old news apparently, so maybe you guys can shed some light on this?

If you know someone with JSTOR access, it's addressed here. The story, as is generally the case with population-control yarns, is tinfoil-hattery. One of the "suspicions" was over the targeted vaccination of women, somehow ignoring the fact that it was a campaign to eliminate neonatal tetanus. I haven't seen the original, but there's a claim at JREF that proper lab testing showed no hGC.

Well there was enough evidence and enough of a scandal over it, that the BBC did a documentary about it.

My only issue is, they go after women with these vaccines, but why not men? I mean the men go to work and are actually a very high risk for getting tetanus with the kinds of work they do, but they rarely vaccinate the men in the at risk populations. The mens health is essential to the family, since they are the ones that provide for their family.

Having read the Horizon transcript, I think it's rather a stretch to say that it's "about" the Philippine version of the the Mexican conspiracy theory. Moreover, it presents no "evidence" on the subject whatever, aside from Sr. Pilar's assertions. In this context, I'd say it's important to understand how rabid Human Life International (i.e., Sr. Pilar) has been when it comes to opposition to contraception and sex education under any circumstances--they're basically a forced-pregnancy organization, indifferent to AIDS transmission, (former) distributors of a Freemasonry conspiracy tome, and more than just a little anti-Semitic. This one was right in their wheelhouse.

Did I fail to mention prevention of neonatal tetanus in the previous post?
