I keep a rice pack in the freezer and put it on that bone when it starts to hurt badly like you describe. It doesn't cure anything, but it is a brief comfort.

I do this for my tailbone pain, but it helps with pubic bone pain as well: Get on your hands and knees, then rest your head on your pillow so your bottom is in the air. It gets some of the baby's weight off that whole region and provides some relief, plus it is good for baby positioning as you get farther along in your pregnancy.

If you can see a chiropractor, DO IT, it helps more than anything else that I've tried.

I have been having pelvis and back pain for about a month with numb arms and hands. I take two tylenol every six hours. I just saw a bone specialist today who said I should stop going to work, take it easy and see a physical therapist. He did say a little exercise is still good such as walking a few blocks, then resting, and walking a few more blocks.
I've noticed I can't sit too long in the same position. I use strategically placed pillows and rolled up towels to get comfortable and change positions every ten minutes or so.
I've heard a lot of mammas get help from chiros.

(Btw, I'm 32 weeks preggers.)

I had it with my second pregnancy... there really isnt anything that helps too much. The pregnancy support belt helped some for a while in the second and some of the third trimester. Mine was so bad I had to have pain meds prescribed for me (which I only took if I was dying from the pain) and it got so bad that you could hear my pelvic bone cracking and popping and rubbing together where it separated every time I would move.

CHIRO! The only thing that helped me was seeing a chiropractor.

Another vote for a CHIRO! I couldn't believe the difference...only wish I'd discovered my chiropractor during my first pregnancy, when my pelvic pain was truly debilitating.
