Nursing in a Moby.

How do I hands-free nurse in a Moby? I use mine all the time, but have not nursed her in it.

I would like to nurse her upright as it cuts down on the spitting up (she spits up a lot, but it's not a health issue). I tried using the "hug hold" by lowering it, but she didn't seem secure. I am tall (6'0") so a short torso is not an issue, though she is also long - 25 inches at 2 months.

My breasts seem too low to nurse DS upright in a Moby; I have been trying to figure out these two holds:

The problem I seem to run into with nursing in any kind of carrier in any kind of position (but especially when trying to nurse hands-free) is that the babys' nose always seems mushed into my breast.... I kind of have to push on my breast to make sure there is room for the nose.

I could only nurse my little one in a wrap if I basically carried him sideways - so it was only for nursing, not really a comfortable walking-around carry. And I can only nurse him in a MT if I re-tie it to have more "slack", which isn't how I normally carry him in front - not sure if that makes sense, but in general I can't nurse him upright in a carrier without shifting the carrier so he's uncomfortably low. Like you, I didn't feel that he was secure after I'd lowered it.

So when I wanted to nurse him in the stretch wrap, I would pull him out of the pocket/pre-tie carry, kind of move the fabric around, hold him sideways across my chest, pull the fabric back around to support him, nurse, and then move him back into a vertical hold. It wasn't exactly hands-free, but it meant that I could just keep one hand on him while he nursed, and I could walk around a bit. (I nursed him a LOT in museums, who knows why?)

I've done it. I haven't tried recently though, she is 6 months now. I just scooted her body down lower and then used my hand to hold my breast in her mouth. I actually did it walking around the zoo once and was quite proud of myself I do have to readjust after she is done. I'm not sure if the fact that my babies are quick nursers helped though - 5 minute sessions usually.

I used the first one when she was a newborn, but she likes to move around more and won't stand for being so tightly wrapped anymore.
