Free Sling - just pay shipping

Got this in my email just now, thought I would share. Very nice slings, wish my little one was still small enough to use them. They have plus sizes as well which is really nice.

Go to www.sevenslings.com , click on “Shop Now”, and select the correct size sling or gift set you would like (be sure to visit the sizing page for instructions on how to select the right size sling for you). Once you have selected the sling or gift set you would like, enter "onefree" into the promo code box and click “Apply Code”. This will bring your product total from $39.00 to $0 for one of our pouch slings or from $44.00 to only $5 for the gift sets - all you are required to pay is the shipping & processing!

Shipping runs about $12, which is a great price for a brand new sling!

I am pretty sure this is the same company that sells Udder Covers and offers them for "free". I have heard that some people have had problems with receiving their cover. Not sure if it will be the same with the sling. I had no problem when I ordered the cover, but i have heard others have. Someone correct me if I am wrong (which I am sure someone will ).

I am tempted to order one but I want to hear about others experience first.

Thanks!!!!

Well I just put in an order, the "black magic" gift set. I will let everyone know how it goes with me. I figured it wouldn't be the end of the world if I end up out $16. I rarely buy new things at all.

i got the same email! it is from uddercover... its their new site. i ave heard the same thing about the shipping issue, however i ordered my 'free' cover and it came... i might try this sling too!

PS to follow up on what Annettemarie says below me, i use a CC that i dont use very much AT ALL because i googled the company and saw some of the issues. that way it was easy for me to track and charges that were not mine. i had no issue, but if i order again, i will do the same thing!

You may want to google the udder cover issue. The issue wasn't that people weren't getting their merchandise, but that afterwards fraudulant charges were added to their credit cards.

I checked and the BBB gave them an A; they showed 10 shipping complaints in the last 36 months, all have been resolved. Hope that's helpful.

Would it be strange to consider getting one even though a kid is still years off for me? I was thinking I could keep it for a future baby shower gift, but if I didn't have a friend it was appropriate for I could certainly use it eventually.

I know of two people in real life who had to call repeatedly to get their cover. One woman said it took three months and a number of calls and was told a number of times that the cover had been sent. Eventually, she did receive it, but it did take a while. I have heard that some people have had issues with charges on their card afterward, but I don't know of anyone in real life that has had that happen.

I wasn't all that pleased with the quality of the cover. Thin, flimsy and almost see through (kind of defeats the purpose of a cover) but I still got one anyway. I don't think I've ever used it, but I keep it stashed in my car cause maybe it'll come in handy one day as a burpcloth or something. I would be interested in hearing about the quality of this sling before ordering. If anyone does order one, please post about it when you get it.

I bought one of these sling this morning! I've gotten two of the UdderCovers, both at different times. The first time it came pretty fast, the second time I think it was 10-14 days. If I was going to buy a nursing cover for a friend I would still buy from them, I dont mind waiting a little bit

I got the free cover. I didn't find the quality to be great, but I figured that for a free cover I can't complain. It's cute, though. I also ordered the free sling several days ago, but I haven't received it yet. I'll post an update when I do.

I hadn't heard anything about fraudulent charges, but I'll keep my eyes open for them.

You can also avoid using a credit card at all by using paypal.

I received the sling and I like it. I haven't noticed any unauthorized charges to my account yet. I'm actually very happy with the sling. :-)

I got mine today as well. It is made in China and has a slight chemically odor, likely from the packaging.

I bought it for my "future baby/friends' babies stash", so I got the set - legwarmers and a matching bangle bracelet with the sling. It appears pretty sinple to use and the size appears to be accurate.

Probably not something I'd use a ton given the "made in China" label, but it might work to introduce a friend to babywearing or as a backup sling once washed well.
